I have just returned from the doctor's surgery. Not really positive news.

The doctor was really lovely. I sat crying in her surgery, trying to get words out and she was really nice. I told her everything, including that I don't seem to have any symptoms of pregnancy anymore - last week my boobs and nipples were really sore and full. Now they don't feel full anymore and are not painful at all. The doctor said that unfortunately that is a sign that something is not right. I don't feel pregnant anymore.

She was lovely and talked me through things. She also did a blood test to measure for HCG levels - I have to phone for results tomorrow, but to be honest, I think I know that things aren't ok. The hpt test that came out negative kinda indicated that - at this stage, no matter what time of day I tested, you would think it woud have shown up.

I am starting to get cramping on and off in my lower abdomen and am frightened. I don't know what to expect - the doctor said that at this stage, it should just be like a heavy period. I feel very sad - I know people have had worse problems out there and that some people have had many miscarriages, but I can't help how I feel.

Thankyou girls so much for your support and kind words. Thankyou Wobbles especially for your advice, it means a lot.:hugs:

poppy, i am so sorry! but it's not over isnt it? why didnt u do an ultrasound? I can see u removed ur pregnancy ticker why! :(
I am confused with all that is happening to you.
Hunny please feel strong, I know no matter what how small or big is our situation, we all feel the same way.

You are in my prayers :hugs:

Oh Poppy. Am really sorry to hear that. Theres nothing I can say to make you feel any better or change what is happening. Thinking of you and sending you :hugs:

I only just saw your previous thread and am so worried for you!! :(

I know how terrible failed pregnancies can be - I am still holding out hope for you. It's strange that you aren't having any bleeding yet if it's a miscarriage......

Really hoping for the best and that your HCG test results tommorrow will give your renewed hope.

HUGS......

The doctor said that unfortunately that is a sign that something is not right. I don't feel pregnant anymore.
I'm a little gobsmacked.

I know it can be a sign but it honestly wasn't in my case and many others. I didn't feel pregnant at all and constant blood shows daily on every bathroom visit!

I think your preparing yourself for the worst and thats understandable :hugs: (still gobsmacked @ your doctor though) - I really really hope that your hCG levels come back nicely.

Thinking of you lots. What time have you to ring for results?

I have to phone back tomorrow in the afternoon, after lunch. I am going to try and keep myself busy in the meantime. I don't know what I'll think if they come back higher than expected.

I haven't started full on bleeding yet (just the spotting on Saturday night and the brownish discharge yesterday afternoon) - what does this mean? I have been having off and on cramps down in my abdomen this morning, so I am expecting something to happen. If this continues and I don't get any actual bleeding, what could this mean? Could it be an ectopic pregnancy? I don't know much about it. The doctor did say that if my levels come back higher than expected, then we could do further investigations.

I also managed to get myself booked in for an early ultrasound next Wednesday (they don't see you under six weeks), but only if I have a positive pregnancy test on the night before. I don't think this will be needed as I am not positive about things at the moment. Sorry to be so negative.

Sending you :hugs:will be thinking of you & keeping my fingers crossed.....bit surprised at doctor though as I was told on/off symptoms was perfectly normal and cramps are too.........hopefully you will get better news tomorrow..take is easy & lots of :hugs Elle xx

So sorry to hear your appointment didn't go well Poppy. I'll be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers, hopefully the HCG tests will come back with good results :hugs:

Cramps are normal with a viable pregnancy - its so confusing when your faced with what you are.

Ectopic - not something I would worry about if I was you right now. For me I had spotting prior to AF being due. I didn't know any of what I do now so ignored it then I had a period then after my period I had light bleeding again and i was baffled a friend told me to test I thought she was barmy but it played on my mind & I did ... My hCG levels were checked and a slow rising & static result confirmed an ectopic. This is early detection of an ectopic & was at a stage I was not in danger of it rupturing. Now the spotting I had prior is normal for implantation ... the spotting after is normal for implantation too and even a viable pregnancy as I worked out with this LO only with this LO I didn't have a proper heavy period. I would really put that to the back of your mind! *IF* you have an ectopic pregnancy *IF* you will catch it nice and early - they really need to repeat your hCG count 48 hours after your first, try to insist they do I say that because my levels started in the 70 odd and the nurse at the hospital was quite rude/insensitive with me. Turned out they were wrong in their first opinion and a second test showed this.

Its understandable your so negative Poppy! Sometimes seeing the worst before it happens is best ... I personally sit here hoping you are wrong thats all.

How far are you Poppy? I can't see ticker :D

I'm glad Im not the only one who found that shocking!

I have been having cramps like period pains all through the first 6 weeks. Yesterday was the first day I didnt have any. I dont think that is necessarily a sign anything is wrong - least that's what people told me. Mine felt just like period pains, in fact I wrote a thread entitled "period pains?". You might like to read it.

I can understand you preparing for the worst, I would do the same. It's best to be prepared, and if it's good news then hurrah! in the mean time you're doing good - keeping yourself busy.
Fingers and toes crossed for you!!

Ive had spotting, bleeding and stomach cramps during the shot time Ive been pregnant and everything has been ok. I even posted a thread in here a few weeks ago with the same concerns... all my symptoms disappeared and I didnt 'feel' pregnant.

I have my fungers crossed for you. Obviously you're preparing yourself for the worst as anyone would be, but just try and keep busy, and hopefully by the time tomorrow comes, you'll have some good news.

Fingers crossed for you.

Oh Poppy, i'm so sorry to hear how you are feeling.

Dont give up hope, you dont know the results of your blood test yet. Wait until then to decide what to do next. Be positive.

Thinking of you. :hugs:

Wobbles - with you on that one!!! I am a little perturbed at the doctor's response. Honestly - I lived in the UK when I had my ectopic and believe me - if I had not taken it up on myself to go to A&E - I probably would have stayed home and bloody ruptured!! The doctor was so laissez-faire!

(Not to say you are having one Poppy!! So please don't think you are having one!......it could be normal spotting - really it could be - but I would think he would be more proactive in checking it out!)

I know they like to tell you wait it out and see....but for example in my case.... if I had waited it may have been too late and I would have had to have surgery to remove my left tube!! Being early and proactive saved my tube! An ectopic usually shows it's first sign at about 6 weeks.....by mild spotting - then if left unattended and grows will eventually rupture causing severe pain.

If you are having spotting - your doctor should have given you a scan I think at least along with the HCG. Well the great thing is that he did send you for a HCG!! As Wobbles said - ideally you need to do another one in 48 hours to see if your levels are raising nicely.

Thinking of you.....:hugs::hugs:

Poppy, I am sorry you had a bad Dr visit. My thoughts are with you, and I really hope everything is ok.

I hope everything works out for you Poppy. Keeping my fingers crossed!:hugs:

Fingers crossed for you Poppy. DOnt give up hope yet xx

I have sent you a pm poppy
I hope you are ok
Luv Cheryl xxx

Oh Poppy I'm sorry :hugs:

Remember though, cramping and spotting is really common in pregnancy. A lot of girls have had this and everything was alright, including me. The doctor had no right to say that. Theres been a ton of times that I thought I didn't feel pregnant anymore, boobs not being sore is one of those. That was really inconsiderate of her to make you worry, when you're already worried as it is. Hang in there, try to stay postive. I hope your results come back normal hon :hugs:
