Back to back..

Only one labour so nothing to compare it to, but Daniel was induced and was back to back. My labour was very fast (3 hours 35 mins) and my contractions were pretty much continuous (30-40 sec gap between each right from the start). I felt all the pain in my back not my stomach and my tens machine worked wonders before I got my diamorphine injection at 6cm :)

My LO was B2B, I was in labour 5 hours 55 minuets. I had gas & air for pain relief. Baby had also pooed in me so they was all panicking about the meconium. Was pushing for about 40 mins, baby got stuck so had to have an episiotomy, once they'd done that it took me 2 pushes, the first got her head out the second the rest of her! Was my first baby so I'm not sure if it hurts more than giving birth to a baby the right way round. It wasn't that bad at all though. Once you hold your baby all the pain goes. You'll be fine !

Is it less likely you will go into labour naturally with a back to back positioned baby?

I went into labour naturally at 39+5 and he came the day before his due date. I hadn't tried to bring on labour either.

I went a week early with mine. Don't think it impacts WHEN you go into labour at all, it just often impacts how the labour progresses.

I went into labour the day after my due date. My waters broke and I started having contractions 5 minutes later. They were 7 minutes apart. Within an hour they were only 5 minutes apart so we went to hospital. In between contractions I had terrible backache and after a few hours of this I said to the midwife and she explained DD was back to back.
I was in labour for 15 hours, only 3 with gas and air, and I spent most of it rocking on a ball whilst leaning forward into a chair.
Lying down was so painful!!!

I was induced on my due date and George was moving from back to back to slightly sideways. He was back to back throughout labour but turned at the last minute. My labour didn't progress well, I was stuck at 5-6cm for ages.

I had a b2b and was in labor (with pit) for 25 hours before finally getting an epidural. My waters had broken at home and contractions were not helping me progress. She came a fortnight early.

If baby is lying on the right side so not really back to back but still considered posterior, does this mean a back to back style labour?
