Hi girls I woke up today with the worst back ache ever! Tried every position even sleeping with a pillow and nothing worked! I am doing pregnancy water aerobics and going to star yoga next month but right now the pain is really bad! I uses to go to the chiropractor but my ob told mr to stop when I got pregnant ( don't know why) so I'm asking you IS IT SAFE TO GO?? I think she could help me but I'm scare for my little man! I'm 24 + 4 today

I can't answer your question about going to a chiropractor, but the last week and a half I had the worst sciatic pain. It was only on the left side of my back, so every night I would do stretches to stretch my lower back and hamstrings, slept only on my right side, kept a pillow between my legs and concentrated on better posture while sitting and standing. Slowly but surely the pain went away!

I would also stay away from vigorous exercise or lifting anything more than say a gallon of milk until your back feels better.

Just some suggestions that seemed to work very week for me, luckily my pain has subsided just in time for my 5k this weekend! :) lol

the reason you cant go to the chiropractor is because you have certain pressure points in your back, much like the ones in your feet and your hands. Theres a few spots in your back that can trigger your uterus to contract etc which CAN put you into early labour. so Chiros are a no no until your close to delivery.

I would suggest finding someone in your area that specialises in pregnancy massage.
Hope your back feels better soon xo

Awh I feel for you :/

I've had a bad back all my life, and I remember when I hit middle of 2nd tri I got it bad. It was unbearable!
The yoga and exercise will help it so much, and a mixture of walking and stretching upwards every hour in the day with periods of sitting down will ease it a little. If you have a birthing ball I'd highly reccomend sitting on one at home as it helps your posture by forcing you to sit up straight. Took me a while to learn the posture thing (it hurt more when I tried to have a straight back), but with practice was so helpful in the end. A hot bath every night might help ease it a bit before bed, it really started getting bad when I laid down. Oh and support under your bump and behind your back when you sleep can support the extra weight your carrying and make sleeping that little bit more comfortable!

I hope this helps, and it will get better!! X

I have pelvic girdle dysfunction and it is unbearable at the moment! I would suggest going to see a physio. They can give u a back support, excersies etc they are a great help xxxx
