im currently 17 weeks pregnant and am suffering from bad eczema. ive been to my doctor 3 weeks ago and was given some epaderm cream but its not really working. my eczema is on parts of my legs, insides of my arms (near elbow joints) hands & fingers and nipples. on my nipples it keeps going really dry cracked and itchy then eventually the skin comes off and the nipples feel constantly wet to touch and if i wear a bra i end up with yellow patches in my bra from whats leaking out of my nipples. ive seen on some websites that it says to not use bubble bath (which ive stopped using) and to avoid soap and use a cleanser instead which i've also done, but its still not clearing up :( can't get to my doctors neither cos of the silly snow!! any suggestions anyone?

I had horrible excema on my hands and fingers with my daughter (first pregnancy). With this current pregnancy I haven't had anything--I have no idea why. Just one of those things I guess. Anyway--when I had it bad I had to wait until 30 weeks to get a steroid cream to put on it. Once I got that cream, it went away completely and was such a relief. But since it is a steroid and can get into your blood and possibly pass to the baby, they made me wait until 30 weeks. Up until then, I just used a non-fragrant lotion, took warm showers (hot showers are a huge no no), tried my hardest to not do a lot of dishes because wetness made my excema break out, and I slept with socks on my hands (HAHA!) because I would itch it in my sleep.

Hope some of that helps!

Thanks :D I managed to get an appointment with my doctor for later on today so i'll keep you updated :) hopefully they can make it better cos it's really annoying me :(

Managed to get it sorted! I've been given a steroid cream to use for 10 days (then I've gotta go back to the docs to show her how it's going & she's gonna put me on a lower cream after) and the nipples have gotten infected from the eczema and scratching so i've been given some different cream with antibiotics in it for that aswell. Also I was given a big tub of E45 cream, some E45 bath lotion and E45 soap so I'm hoping for an improvement soon :)

Good! I'm glad you got something for relief! Hopefully you'll start feeling better in no time!
