Hi ladies, hope you are well and enjoying your pregnancy :)

I have a slightly stupid question for you : I have started to get my nursery ready ( furniture, bedding etc etc) for a friend of mine to tell me that is BAD LUCK to get it ready so early(my due date being March). What's this all about with bad luck??

Thanks x x

Some people say that yes, but I doubt any scientific study would ever back it up!!

As soon as I know the sex I am buying more stuff, we already have a few things and some hand me down around the house that friends have passed on.

old wives tales. Load of bollocks! Pregnancy seems to have a massive amount of unfair wives tales! You do your nursery!

lol that's exactly what I'm gonna do, finish my nursery!! thanks x

Load of crap honey, what about us mums who already have babies/kids

house is already bulging with baby stuff from last ones lol

i think starting on the nursery a bit early is a nice idea personally :) that way you will be less rushed to get everything done if you tend to be a busy person! you can enjoy creating your nursery instead of stressing over it in the last few weeks.

I've been buying bits for the nursery already and I'm not due until May. Would start earlier but we need to get rid of the bed in there first and can't do that until after MIL has been to stay at Xmas! Lol

They only say that incase something happens. My dh made a very good point though. You could do your nursery bring baby home and something bad happens! Bad/goodluck will remain regardless! Do up your nursery if you like and dont listen to nonsense!

Im just starting to get things for the nursery now, i wont be painting it or anything until after xmas because we've only just moved in and my little boy is in what will be the nursery until his room is decorated.

If i hadnt been waiting to move house i probably would have started sooner.

xx

Speaking from experience, its very painful to lose a baby and come home empty armed to baby stuff everywhere.

However, I've always heard that its "bad luck" before 20 weeks. Your chances of a loss at this point are very low...carry on with the nursery!!

my mother in law tried to tell me this, even saying she never had anything at home untill the baby was born & that her daughter did the same blah blah blah..... then when talking to sister in law i found out she did indeed have her daughters room all set up!!

I am finding you really need to pike what you listen too, people give all sorts of stories!! have fun setting up bubs room, i can wait to do this but want to move house before bub comes. :)

That must have been just awful for you. Cant imagine losing a baby ever. Really wish you all the best in this pregnancy.

This is going to be my 5 th baby boy, and before each was born we had everything in place. If something bad happens it is not because I wanted the baby and took care to have a place to bring him to!
Don't live life in fear! Plan for the most probable outcome , which is a healthy baby !
