Bad news - please read this !!!

:hugs:
Hugs dear, but I wonder why they retrieved eggs without doing at least 1 SA?

Thanks. We did three semen analysis from May 2010 to October 2010.
The sperm count just got lower and lower. Our FS said not to worry as they will find sperm
on the day of ER (20/12/2010), which obviously did not happen. The sperm just dissapeared.
They forgot to do the blood work to check his hormones from the start.
They only tested his hormones after he had an emergency TESA, which they discovered he had extremely low FSH. Luckily it can be resolved!

If we had known from the start we could have fixed the problem and fallen pregnant naturally and saved a lot of money!

Is her taking a conception vitamin and avoiding underpants/hot showers/baths etc.? Can you think of anything in his life that has changed recently? Lots of long-distance driving is a problem, plus I've read it's advisable for him not to put laptop on his lap or mobile phone in his pocket? Swimming is great because the cold water stimulates sperm production.

He has avoided all of the above. If you read my previous posts, he had mumps when he was little (which already gives a lower sperm count as the damage is done) and his FSH was tested extremely low which causes sperm to stop reproducing.
Another thing I discovered recently is that he used to drive a motorcycle when he was a teenager and that causes constant low level damage to the testes which also causes a permanent lower sperm count. He is using Ovidrel twice a week for 4 weeks and ovidrel plus Menopur for another 4 weeks. This should do the trick!
Even if he has 20 million sperm after the injections, I will still fall pregnant with or without ICSI. I'm super positive!

Mrs V, what did they do with all the eggs you produced? Is there a way to freeze them? I haven't started IVF yet so I don't know how it works.

Hi there !

Yes, they froze all my eggs. That's going to be our back-up plan!
Natural conception of IVF.........only time will tell! Hopefully soon!!!

Half way there! Just 4 more weeks of injections for DH and then we see what his SA has to say!

So sorry hun... that had to be such a disappointment. Certainly great you had so many eggs retrieved though and there is treatment for his issue. I'll keep my fingers crossed that his spermies build up quick and strong so you can get to makin that baby soon!!!!

Best of luck to you hun!!!!
