I have this same translocation and I have three children. I had two miscarriages before they discovered the translocation. I then successfully delivered a baby girl who does not have the translocation. I had another miscarriage and then delivered another girl with the translocation and then a boy with the translocation. The success rate of pregnancy with the translocation is 50/50. I had amnio with each pregnancy. Once I knew why I was miscarrying, I did make it a bit easier. I have several other anomalies that also caused infertility problems but successfully brought 3 children to full term. There is great hope!

For those who have been diagnosed with this - how did you go about being tested?

I'm concerned there may be a genetic issue causing my MC/infertility history - how can I get tested? I'd ideally like my partner to be tested as well.

Thanks in advance!

We were tested as part of a larger set of tests into recurrent MC and were refered by both our GP and the EPU.

jamkoontz thanks for your story it does fill me with hope esp as i am now expecting again. x

Blueeyedgirl1 - just ask your doctor to order a genetic carrier test in light of your MC.
My doctor said that they usually will order the test after 3 MC but he ordered mine after 2. Keep in mind that this was nearly 23 years ago so I am sure they have better tests today.

hi raxcoz, i remember u from way back when we were both having MC's, hadnt realised that u were diagnosed with a BT as well. My BT is 8 and 11..
it sucks soooo much.....
anyways chat soon!xx
