i took some balsamic vinegar like a shots worth at about 6pm after been told it works same as caster oil without the risk so far just had runs (sorry tmi) and really bad heart burn, just wondered if anyone else had tried this before or if anyone knows if it works?? Also people who have took castor oil did it work when did you take it and what was side effects ?? x

I'm bumping this because I am curious as well :flower:

I m not sure about balsamic vinegar but DO NOT TAKE CASTOR OIL it is very DANGEROUS for the BABY :hugs: baby will come in their own time :hugs:

Castor oil can make the baby poop inside of you which can be life threatening. I don't know much else about it, I have never tried it. If you google it you can find out a lot. I think Pineapple is meant to work, try some of that. It's healthy too :-)

i read u need about 10 pinapples though ;)

Haha yes, I read that too. I wouldn't want to get the squits just before labour tbh..what if it's still going on IN labour? How embarrassing. Best to just let baby come when ready I think and I can be really sympathetic with anyone who goes over as I went over 11 days with my previous babies but I still never reached for anything that would upset my tummy.

i agree weeplin. i really do worry about pooping while pushing lol. i love the name for your little baby by the way - just seen your ticker. i really like the name freya :)

Never heard anything about Balsamic Vinegar - I have had loads on salads!

Found this though...

Labor Induction Myth
What To Expect explains that balsamic vinegar, along with spicy foods are rumored to help start labor in some women. There is no scientific evidence that balsamic vinegar can induce labor. With your doctor's approval, balsamic vinegar dressings may be used on salads and other foods during your pregnancy without fear of early labor.

well no labour yet so dont think it worked :/ had some period like cramps though wich is supppose to be a start of things i think and babys head feels like hes putting down more pressure so at least it mite of done something lol x

Yeh he/she will come when ready. How many weeks are you?

Argh there are alot of thread around like this today!

Your baby will come when they are ready not when you are im afraid.

Would you let your doctor try and force you into labour then send you home with no medical care? I doubt it so please dont take this into your own hands!

just hoover your car (if you have one) it worked for me as my waters broke that night!!

There are so many threads like this today haha There are other more "natural" ways of trying to induce labour but really most of them are just myths...

the best thing to do is be patient, I know it's hard towards the end but the longer our littlens are cooking inside our tums the better :) x
