OK, we're struggling a little to get to grips with all the cloth nappy info. There's so much conflicting info out there that it's hard to know who is and isn't right.

For now, we're using Bambino Mio prefolds. Monty is eight days old and weighs about 7lbs 8oz. We had been folding the nappies along the seams, as that seemed the obvious way to fold them, but a quick look at the Bambino Mio website suggests that we should fold them across the seams. This seems a bit odd to us, as that means the seam could rub on Monty's bottom. Can somebody who uses these nappies let us know how you fold them please?

Next question: we're not currently using liners, but we do have some biodegradeable ones in Monty's nursery. Do the liners simply make cleaning up easier, or do they actually take moisture away and therefore keep Monty's bottom drier? Also, how does the liner fit into the whole nappy system? Does it simply sit on top of the folded nappy, so that the liner is next to Monty's skin?

Finally, we are dry-pailing our nappies, just adding a bit of tea-tree oil to the bucket to keep them smelling OK. As Monty's poo at the moment is simply runny yellow stuff (good old chicken korma!), should we be rinsing the poo down the toilet or are the nappies fine to go straight into the washing machine as they are? What we've done so far is to put the nappies on a rinse cycle, and then when that's finished add any other white washing to the load and then do a 40 or 60 degrees wash. Is that considered "acceptable", or is it totally minging?!

Thanks, girls, for any help on the above. xx

I use the extra absorbancy/boy fold as directed on their site https://www.bambinomio.com/v06/nap/usr.cgi so at first you fold against the seem and then with the seam if that makes sense! Never had any problems with the seam rubbing.

Disposable liners just make the clean up process easier as it catches the poo (especially when their on harder poops). Again the video above shows you how to fold the liner in with the nappy.

Some people do put dirty nappies in the wash, personally i always blast poopy nappies off with the shower, ring them out and pop in bucket till wash day. How you wash your nappies is up to you tbh but do remember that you are only supposed to use 1/4 of the normal detergent on them.

Hope thats of some help x

looking at that website, i cant help but think why didnt you just buy some cheapy towels :dohh:
