I'm getting in touch because I'm producing a documentary for the digital radio station BBC 1Xtra - looking at the stories of young mothers who choose to become pregnant. I am really keen to interview young mothers (the target audience is 15-24, so we'd like to focus on the younger end of the demographic) going through this experience for the feature. We'll be looking at why they've decided to have a child young, and the kinds of issues they face: the practical learning curve of becoming a mother, finding support, the stigma of being a young mother and the emotional impact of having a child.
I am working to quite tight deadlines, and I am really keen in particular to interview a young mother before and after her birth to follow the journey.
