BD on top and getting BFP

Even though I am WTT, I would really like to know if any of you ladies out there have got your BFP when BD and being on top. I have read that it is not the ideal position to get preggas, but I don't know if that is just a myth. It is the position most natural to my DH and me to BD, and I wouldn't like to change things when TTC. If this question is innocent and stupid, forgive me, but for some reason it has been going round my head tonight. Thanks

Don't know for certain at all, but personally have given up being "on top" when TTC.... without giving TMI, "gravity seems against it"

Doesn't mean that we can't start that way, but always use missionary to finish. And then I lie there for 15/30 minutes with my hips elevated and my legs in the air... VERY ladylike!

I suppose I was with QTPie on the gravity thing. But I am glad to here what MsLesley has to say. When I TTC I really want everything to be normal, natural, and forget about it as much as poss so no to stress and obsess, so if I start demanding new positions just so to ensure getting preggas that would be anything but natural.

Well my last 2 pregnancies i was on top and i have a 5 year old daughter from the first one and the last one ended as a chemical pregnancy. Last month we bd with me only on top and I had a bfn So this month I wont be on top.

Calm, that's not a silly question at all and one that i have also pondered... i prefer it that way but we tend to start that way and then end up swapping and always ending with OH on top so we both get a bit of what we prefer!! lol. and this is good for baby making -win win situation

I am at the stage "anything extra I can do to help it"... we had been trying for 10 months before I got pregnant (and then went on to mis-carry).

To begin with we did it any which way, but at the end it was "finish misionary and, afterwards, hips on pillow and stay still for 15/30 minutes... Whether it was that or something else COMPLETELY random that helped me to get pregnant I have NO idea... We have just strated trying again (after a cycle off after the MC) and are back to doing everything humanly possible again.

Still husband has fairly low sperm count, sperm mobility and sperm morphology - so I reckon that they can do with all the help that they can get

I am not convinced by doggie.... Am going to try and say this without giving TMI, BUT let's just say... "quite a lot seems to come out again" (same as on woman on top).

Maybe that is me (and not every woman), but when it happens to me it doesn't seem positive... (i.e. don't want to waste anything)

lol haha its fine to say it hun. were all women. another which maybe good is lyin on side with partner behind. We do that alot and i'm 3 days late, not sayin i'm prg yet tho coz got 2 but never missed a period. so i'm still keeping hopes up x

You could start out that way and end with him on top or behind.

I have also read if you roll off straight away and lay on your back the sperm will still get the chance to do it's thing.

I know exactly when I concieved last month (it was the only time we did it inside 8 days around ovulation) and it was with him behind.

God, it's amazing what I will openly chat about on here, I would never talk about this stuff with anyone else! lol

Thanks for all your replies, I am really glad that many do get preggas doint it on top, I was stressing a bit about having to change all our sexual habits and this being a bit of a turn off etc

I wonder if there is really any medical proof that doing it on top can make you have less chances, or is it just a myth or our logical minds thinking it goes agaisnt gravity. Girls that didnt want to get pregnant used to say if you did it standing up you wouldnt get pregnant, or that you couldn't get pregnant the first time ect I wonder if this is one of many old wife tales or if there is really something into it.

And I agree it great to be able to talk natural about these things, just imagine before the days of internet, women would hardly ever exchange such details.

On top worked for me hun! Great make up sex! ha
AS for the sperm leaking out its not the actual sperm that comes out its the stuff they are swimming in and not longer need as they are swimming inside you! So its fine when you 'drip' afterwards ha!
I personally think you will conceive when you have good sex and feel comfortable! Good luck x

me and my husband only find me being on top comfortable and enjoyable.

him being on top hurts and me being on top gives ME the control.

we had started trying to conceive in january and got a BFP this month, however, AF caught me!

i won't try and make this post tooooo long! lol

when he finishes, i don't always get off him right away, then when i do, i do this weird roll over so that nothing comes out! lol it works like a charm and nothing comes out until i stand up and push it out lolol TMI!

so just enjoy it and don't worryyy, make sure you have an orgasm AFTER he finishes, that's a good tip lol
