Beautiful people more likely to have a girl baby

I came across this article saying that scientists beleive 'beautiful' people are 26% more likely to have a girl.
Do you beleive this to be the case? Y/N?

Personally I kind of do beleive this theory. Because some people I know that are more unfortunate looking have had boys, whereas the more genetically blessed ones have tended to have girls. But obviously it's not always the case!

but who is to say who is "beautiful" ? some people who are considered pretty or hot i personally dont think are all that.
my mom was super pretty when she was young (in her 50s now) she had a boy and two girls. so what, she's just average because she has both? lol.

Scientific studies have shown that beauty in an individual can be best measured by facial symmetry..... They study everything ya know.....


Anyways, just based on personal experience some of the most beautiful children I've ever seen have come from..... not so lovely looking parents.....

I think these are one of those studies that scientists do because they're bored. I think I'm really ugly but my OH disagrees with me totally and so do some of his mates. Anyway, do they not say beauty is on the inside not the outside? lol If the study is right then I should have a boy which will suit me fine and dandy lol

Gah! What a load of rubbish! I with the newspaper would put links at least to the abstract. Ok here we go again,
1) This was done by the London School of Economics. Sound like scientists to you? Please don't tarnish our good reputation!
2) They are claiming sexual evolution to be the basis of this phenomona. First they say it's because men inherit the wealth and women need to be beautiful to get with a man. Whilst this is true for perhaps a few hundred years to a certain extent (but obviously only for those who have any wealth in the first place which is much in the minority) if anyone seriously thinks sexual evolution in humans has taken place in the last few hundred years then they are not much up on the rates that evolution occurs at.
3) They then use the opposite of sexual theory by saying women can only reproduce a finite number of times but men can reproduce almost infinitely. While this is true the implication is that females are choosy and guaranteed to mate but males have to compete so only the best get the chance. Honestly in like every other mammal apart from us the woman does the picking, the reason that females are dowdy and males are brightly coloured or have to fight, particularly obvious in birds too.

This article makes no sense at all!

The sex of the baby is determined solely by the presence of the right chromosome in the father's sperm so is it just about whether the father is good-looking or does the mum have to be good-looking too?

Oh my! That's quite a pointless study!! DOesn't make sense at all to me! But hey I've had a boy so I must have fell out of the ugly tree, and my OH too... haha oh well I don't mind, my son is gorgeous so we obviously didn't pass too many 'ugly' genes onto him!!

What a completely unnecessary study to do and how mean it is!!!!

Im no beauty and neither ugly I have 1 girl , 1 boy and another girl on the way so maybe more of a beauty than I think lol, I seriously think that study is a load of pants who is to say who is beautiful and who is ugly

The research was based on first borns - so whatever you have first decides if you are a member of the ugly tree family or not ... I fully believe the resaerch - afterall I had a girl (Tongue very firmly in cheek... what a stupid study )
