Well I KNEW I wouldn't carry to her due date, but what quite a traumatic week!
This is how my week went last week -

Weekend of 11/12/13th I had my 'bloody show' and a slight trickling of water especially when been sat down/lied down.

Tuesday - Had midwife appointment for 36 weeks check up mentioned about show and waters, checked blood pressure was slightly high. Told probably a bit of 'extra' discharge but come back Wed for another check.

Wed - Check blood pressuer, back to normal. Had a risk assessment scan to check head down and she was 3/5th's engaged.

Fri - Back again, check bp all fine and still 3/5th's engaged. Next appointment made for Thursday 23rg August but told any probs go back/call.

I knew it wasn't discharge etc so wasn't overly impressed.

:)

Sunday 19th - 4.30am - Up to visit toilet and had a gush of waters, bit of blood present so rang hospital advised to go in for a check, so made hospital for 5.30ish as 30+ miles away (couldn't use local one as still under 37 weeks)
No pains etc by this point, internal examine showed back waters had gone and 1cm. Sent home to return 9.30am next day if no progress. Long uncomfy drive home. Home for 1.5hrs and pains getting stronger but mainly me very worried about baby's age 36+3 so rang hosptial for advise, told to return if I wanted, so we did :D

Made it back, admitted and left to see what happened. Long latent labour but damn painful, some contractions were 40 secs, some 10 secs so jjust monitored. Maganed to sleep through the night in between contractions. BP Rose so given something to settle it

Monday 20th, Re assed - still 1cm! told if no progress by 9amish them something will be administered to help along, BP still risen but stable.
9am ish drip attached and given something to induce, a sweep and broke front waters. Told baby had turned back to back!
From then the pains were immense but bareable, had a nice bath etc. Drip does increased but no other pain relief, Labour goes into full swing.
12pm ish I tell the midwives I can't do this no more, way too painful, they assure me its normal etc etc etc
12.25pm inform midwifes I actually need to push! told no way wont be far enough on but I insist so the chack and wahey I'm 8cm ;) given the ok to push and then 12.49pm Hannah Anne Scott born :D :D :happydance: She came out crying bless her.

Then I was aware of 5 midwives and a surgeon in the room, turns out I'd torn really bad and in total lost a litre of blood, BP extra high but hey I felt fine I had my little girl! :happydance:

Let home Tuesday at 4pm so Meet Hannah Anne Scott born 12.49pm 20th August at 6lb 1 oz at only 36 weeks a 4 days!! perfect in every way :D

So what I learned is you know your body and do as it tells you :)

Aww how precious, she's perfect!! Congratulations and sorry about your traumatic birth!

Aw, congrats on your precious little girl!! Have a speedy recovery, Hun. :flower:

Congratulations on the birth of your daughter. So sorry the experience was so terrible, but on the bright side you have one beautiful and healthy little girl as the end result!

Hannah is the most amazing thing in my world :happydance: I'd go through all of the above again for her :D

Congrats!!! Beautiful baby girl.

Couldn't agree more with your comment, was too told not ready to push - I insisted was - in fact said well there is something wrong then , they checked and 10cm! Your body knows!

Had they done anything to try to reduce your tearing, or just let you go for broke?

Not a thing, at least I don't remember it. Although they happy to induce you too they refuse to use an epidural either so by the time they realised I was progressing quick I couldn't have ANY pain relief, which I'd rather of done without anything rather then anything cross into her

Congrats, she's beautiful. So they actually let you start pushing when you reached 8 cms? Thought you had to be fully dilated before they even consider letting you push. Could that have been the reason you tore badly? Did they say? X

I have the same question as chetnaz. Congratulations! How bad did you tear? :/

I had a 3rd degree tear which is a tear in the vaginal tissue, perineal skin, and perineal muscles that extends into the anal sphincter - ouch

No they never said and I have no idea why they told me to push, even if they said not too the urge would have been way to much to ignore :(

To be honest it's not bothered me, it's healing fairly well, no discomfort and able to use the bathroom but have been sitting in a warm salty bath daily to keep it all clean :)

Hannah is doing well, needs a slight op on a tight tongue tie. Has anyone elses baby needed this?
