Look at my ticker!! I'm not ready for this!
Baby is below the 5th percentile with IUGR and possible insufficent placenta so may have to have an emergency c-section within the next 6 weeks.
Anyone know any positive stories or outcomes of something similiar?

Hi hun, sorry, just wanted to wish u luck though and hope everything goes ok. I just had steroids as I had ruptured membraines at 28+3. He is staying put at the moment. Hope they keep him in as long as they can, but will only deliver if totally necessary x x x x

Thanks Anna! It's just a case of monitoring to see if placenta fails further and if it's stays like it is now then I should be ok for a fews weeks more. Hope your little man stays put for a while too!!

Oh, honey. Good luck. Hope the baby starts growing better. All of the best to you.

Positive Story Time!

Andrew was born at 29+1wks by c/section weighing just 1lb 6oz with severe IUGR. I had the steroid jabs at 28weeks, the bloodflow into the placenta was failing.

Andrew had his first birthday two weeks ago. He's had some health issues but is otherwise a happy, healthy little boy who is now crawling around the floor.

There are plenty of success stories like ours over in the Premature Baby area of the forum, Andrew's is not the most extreme :D If you have further worries, please come and post in there too - so that we can all try to reassure you.
