Hello, I've been on BnB for awhile, and lurking on this board here lately.
I've been TTC for a year this month, had an unconfirmed chemical in Feb/2010 then didn't ovulate for two months. Dr. #1 then gave me provera and 50 mg clomid to get things going.
Without any meds I start spotting by 4 - 5 DPO. My luteal phase is still a full 14 days, but with heavy spotting and sometimes bursts of bright red bleeding for days before my period comes.
First round of clomid I got 7 days before spotting started.
Second round of clomid I had 13 days!! before spotting.
Third round of clomid.. Dr.s office forgot to call it in (fired Dr. # 1), started bleeding at 5 DPO, BFP at 9 DPO, prog was only 8 when I had a blood test, HcG was 19. HCG never got above 50 and I M/C at 6 weeks.
Dr. #2 confirmed the pregnancy and started me on prog suppositories, but I lost the pregnancy anyway. She then bumped my clomid up to 100mg.
During my month off after M/C I tried just prog supps I had left over, started spotting at 9 DPO while using them.
First 100 mg clomid cycle I went 9 days without spotting. I asked to try prog supps after O. while on a clomid cycle. Dr. told me even with bleeding I don't need them until I'm pregnant. Fired Dr. #2
Dr. #3 Started me on 2nd round of 100mg clomid. He concurred prog won't help until I'm pregnant, but prescribes them "to make me feel better"
That's my current cycle. I'm 10 DPO and still no spotting, 21 day prog check (at 4 DPO) was 17.7.. not great but not really terrible. I asked the Dr. when I stop the prog and he said "Well, they don't really do anything unless you are pregnant, so you can stop them today and see if your period comes or not."
Well, obviously it will come. It came when I was actually pregnant back in July.
I am beyond frustrated with all these Dr's telling me to just keep trying without saying "Something is not right about bleeding 4 or 5 DPO... lets try to fix the problem"
So first, I feel like just throwing in the towel because no one will help me.. and second, does anyone know the reasonable answer to "When should I stop taking prog suppositories?"
