I am on the Trying To Conceive #1 section and i have been directed onto this section.

Me and my OH have been trying to concieve for 2 years now... and still nothing, i feel like i need abit of emotional support as i dont really have any friends at the people i do know all have children and dont understand what we are going through.

I have been to my GP and he has done all the tests which told us that i have irrecgular ovulation and on the months i do ovulate its not strong enough.
My GP said i can go on these fertility tablets but im a little underweight and they wont give me the tablets untill i gain a stone.
Which i have been trying to for a year, and im not even half way there, ive always been small and i have always struggeled to gain weight. I am eating plenty but with my diabetes its hard to control, my sugars are all over the place.

Every month which goes around we get dissapointed when nothing has happend.

I wondered if there is anything we can do to help me ovulate, or to keep our spirits up. Its all me and my fiance want in life and no matter how much i eat the weight isnt going on (ive had my thyroid checked and thats fine)

With the help and advice from the other part of the site i have bought some OPK's and have started taking my temperature.

I would love to meet someone who has been trying for along time so we can give each other a little emotional support.

Thanks and nice to meet you all

This is a really good section to be in because you can see posts of people who have been TTC for usually 1 year +. My DH and I have been TTC for 17 months - 19 cycles and we are just now doing testing with a FS.

I'm so sorry you can't get on the pills until you gain weight. I know a lot of people with diabetes and it is hard when the things you can eat are restricted. Hopefully you can find a way to gain weight and get on that medicine. A lot of women on here have had success with ovulation inducing medications.

I'm sending you lots of :dust: and hopefully you can get the support you need here. Everyone in this forum is going through a hard time so we all know how you are feeling. :hugs:

BTW - your cat is so adorable! :)

Hi hun me and my DH hhave been trying for 3.5 years now, its an awful thing to go through, especially when other people seem to get pregnant all around you, I know how hard it is to stay possitive, I was told in December I couldn't have the tablets unless I lost a stone, luckily I have managed which is amazing as iv never been able to loose weight easily befor, it must be hard to gain weight when just eating isn't enough, have you tried high calorie milkshakes? I had a friend who was very ill and was put on them I think they come in 1000 calorie packets so a few of those a day an he was soon piling it on, this website is amazing there are so many helpful people on here, iv been struggling coping with depression and an unemotional OH but the people on here have really helped, good luck hun itl happen for us all soon :D xxxx

google skinny pcos...have they mentioned metformin to you? A lot of ladies say that is all it takes for there mense to act right and O right! Good luck hun! Its a hard road but so worth it in the end!

Me and my OH have been trying for a year and 4 months now, currently on my 16th cycle. We were referred for tests (bloods on cd3, bloods on cd21 although this needs to be done 7DPO, Hycosy scan and semen analysis for OH) and to see a fertility specialist back in November.

I have a feeling the problem with your weight and the struggle to put it on is due to your diabetes not being under control, you really need to concentrate on getting this controlled, what is your hba1c? It's also extremely important they are controlled before you are pregnant, Im surprised you Dr hasn't spoke to you about it and tried to help get your sugars under control, I also diabetic and it was one of the first things I was asked about.

Hi Belle

OH and I have been ttc for 2 years now - we have been diagnosed with a male factor and put forward for IVF which is finally starting to move after 8 months!

I have always been slim and struggled to put on weight particularly when I was younger - I was always teased about how skinny I was despite the fact I eat quite a lot and hate anything healthy I just cant put the weight on so I understand your frustration. I havent had to be put on any tablets etc but I am an average weight now finally x

We have been trying for 3 years now. Took a year to get a lap/hystroscopy done and found out everything inside is good. I am skinny too and have a hard time trying to gain weight. No health problems, just skinny. I have a appointment in April to see the specialist again.

If you find a way to gain weight let me know, LOL. I eat lots but being skinny runs in my family. Good luck to all of you.

Thanks for all of your replys :)
my HBA1C is 6.5 so really good but only because my sugars are 18 1 min then 2 the next.
Im working with my diabetes team at the moment to try and make it better but im high on a morning which they said cant be helped cos its just my background has run out. but i worry this is stoping me from gaining weight.
im back with my dietition in April but i have emailed her to help with the calories. i take calogen at the moment but only gives an extra 400cals, so i have asked her for higher suplements.
I was at the docs yesterday and he said he would be happy if i got to 50kgs (at the moment im 46kgs) so still way to go.

I got a positive reading from my opk yesterday so pleased with that as its the 1st time ive used them. but my temp has stayed the same? is that normal?

Hi ladies,

I finally got pregnant after 39 months ttc. It was the most difficult journey, ever! Every month when AF arrived, i would breakdown and just cry. All tests done, i was in the clear. Had a regular 28 day cycle. so was wondering what the problem was. So doc put me on metformin 3 months then clomid with preganol injection. What i came to realise was taking clomid without Evening Primrose Oil would not work because Clomid has the tendency to dry out cervical mucus. So while it ensures you release healthy eggs, your spermies cant swim and meet the egg. In my last two cycles this is what i tried and now am pregnant after all this time. Especially when its unexplained, it just might me the CM. And also i relaxed alot during that cycle and googled less!

Wish you all good luck and :dust: to you all.

Hey belle, my df and I have been trying for over two years, i have PCOS and type 2 diabetes. I have the reverse issue to you, i have to lose weight to get medication, with the help on metformin my blood sugar is under control and i have lost 2.5 stone.

I have no sage words on how to cope with all of the strains and tribulations of ltttc, some days/weeks/months i am fine and cope, others i just want to curl up in a ball and cry! I have re-found my love for photography, so that coupled with planning my wedding keeps me busy! Keeping busy seems to help me.

Hopefully, you will find some lovely ladies over here who will support you.

Good luck huni x
