HELLO ALL, I AM NEW To THIS!
I am so frustrated i have been ttc for 14 years now 3 miscarriages so depressing discouraging and exhausting!
I have been thru so many test the latest was the hsg test mildly uncomfortable i was able to complete the testing after 4 different clamps & cath inserted after 50 minutes of trying, the actual procedure wasnt to bad i felt the pinch of the cath being inserted the pressure of them inflating it and then the release.
so far so good i havent got the final results but i seen the contrast flowing thru and then out my tubes.
I keep reading forums which say they got pregnant soon after the hsg test im totally drained all the negatives all the loss i need some stories of people whom actually been thru it as well as i have pcos im on metformin daily just need positive in my life..
please help
i love to hear your stories:cry:

Hmm I can't be of much help. I had an HSG recently but no :bfp: for me. They do say that it helps to kind of clean everything out so if there was minor blockage, it could have gotten rid of it. Hope it works for you!! I'm starting my second round of clomid soon, have you ever been on it?

Mine was way worse than a little pinch, more like a knife and him stabbing it through a closed cervix.
No happy news on this end for a BFP. I think the majority of people that have sucess right away are those that had mildly blocked tubes, and the dye or saline ends up clearing a path. Unfortunately that was not our issue so no baby on this end, but have heard of some that get it right away.

Good luck!!

Hey ladies,

I had my HSG done on 12 NOV as well.
I guess they do it differently here in Germany. Its more like a surgery with anesthesia.
I was told that everything was fine but one tube needed a little more pressure and then it was like a "pop" and the fluid went through. So I guess I am "flushed".
I used an OPK this morning and it was "almost there" so I assume I will O tomorrow.
I would like to hear if it worked for you. Especially after all your losses and the LONG time of trying. I cant even imagine how much you have went through.
We have been TTC since July 2013.
Keep me/us posted
Lots of sticky baby dust to you my dear

mine was pretty much painless although it bled for quite a while... no luck in getting pregnant though, I had a odd cycle the cycle after where I did ovulated and got to 34 dpo with everything spot on for pregnancy but no :bfp:  it was a cruel cycle

Itstyme, how are you feeling now?
I am 1DPO today and I hope we caught and egg.
BD'd twice yesterday and twice the day before. *exhausted* LOL

My HSG didn't have any spill but I'm working on that! (lol, I know sounds funny) I'm praying scar tissue eating enzymes are my answer. Anyway, it was march 2014 and it hurt SOOO bad! I couldn't even look at the screen with dh but that was due to my blockage. It was seriously worse than giving birth for me.
Anyway, my doctor told me ur odds go up by 25% after an HSG. Although they aren't suppose to be therapeutic, they def can be in cases like urs! Did it take the dye a moment to go through? It could have pushed a very minor blockage out and that could boost ur odds. Id def give it ur all for the next 3 cycles. Your odds could be great, esp if the metiformin is helping you O. Good luck! I know I myself haven't had success after an hsg at this point but Ive seen many ladies on here that do! :) And I truly believe if the dye spilled for me, it would have helped me conceive. I really do. Again, good luck and TONS of baby dust ur way!!

Hi all, may I join?

My 1st hsg was uncomfortable but the 2nd one want bad at all. Wishing you lots of luck!

I'm somewhat new to B&B and just completed a clomid, ovidrel + iui cycle and got a BFN today. I am heartbroken and feel like a loser. I go in on Monday for a mini consult to discuss ivf. I have pcos and take metformin. I've been trying to lose more weight and its hard due to the meds. I feel like I wasting time and our best option is ivf. I was going to take a break but my husband wants to keep trying and feel like I'm allowing frustration and fear take over. I just don't know. I'm not in my 20's so I don't have a whole lot of time to waste.

Good luck buttercup! I will be going for a mini consult for ivf shortly as well. Never thought we'd find ourselves here, huh? Ugh. Infertility bites!! FX ivf brings lots of success!!
Tons of :dust: to You!

Exactly! I never thought I'd find myself here. Ttc is one of the hardest things I've faced.

Thank you! I hope the same for you!! xx

Hi all I'm booked in for an hsg next Thursday really worried about it :( I just want to know if I'm blocked before we make the hard decision of whether to ivf or not...my heart wants to but the money will cause some stress in our family :( good luck to you all!!

For some odd reason I feel like my RE will want me to have another HSG since I haven't had one done in 5+ years. I'll find out more on Monday

Hi Nimbec,

I just had my HSG a couple of weeks ago. The one thing you can be pretty sure of is that it will be over soon! You can't tell what it is going to be like for you as it is different for every woman. The best advice I can give you is to take some sort of pain killer beforehand if your doc hasn't already prescribed anything for you. I have heard of lots of women taking ibuprofen before. My doc prescribed Tylenol 3 for me and I was so happy to have it. Also, as I am sure you have heard, bring someone who is supportive of you and can be sure you get home safely after.

Mine was pretty painful but it was over fast and now I know what is going on with my tubes and uterus, woo hoo! Totally worth it. Also, it has been known to give you a little boost in your chances the first 3 cycles after, WAY COOL!!

Good luck tomorrow.

Thank you so much hun :) I'm dreading it AS I've had failed attempts to insert coils previously and ended up in cervical shock :0! Oh well as u say not long now!!

What where your results? What cd are you on now? We must be similar?
How is everyone else getting on?

How did it go? I hope it wasn't too bad. Mine was pretty awful and it took the entire day for me to feel ok after.

My results: Normal uterus, normal left tube, inconclusive right tube because they could not see it.

I think mine was so painful because the doc tried to push the contrast through harder to see if it would push through to the right tube but it didn't. I almost passed out.

I told my husband that I never want to be a female spy because I don't believe that they pull teeth out to torture female spies into giving up information...all they would have to do for me is get a speculum out and I would sing!

I am 8dpo and really hoping but not wanting to be too hopeful because :bfn: after :bfn: gets SOOOOO depressing!!!!

I can't wait to read how you are doing. This can make you more fertile for the next 3 cycles!! WOO HOO!!! :happydance:

Hi Lotusblooms

I survived :) just about ugh not nice at all - the things we women do!!! I nearly passed out too when they went through the cervix but the staff where lovely thankfully!! So sorry you where rough with yours a necessary evil I guess but now it's done never again aha! Keeping fx for your bfp!!! Do you have a long LP? Will you test or wait for AF?

My results where both tubes clear which I'm not sure how I feel about as I just don't understand why we can't get pregnant BUT onwards & upwards I'm really going for it this cycle with supplements and metformin so you never know!

Xx

Hi Nimbec,

Thank you!!

Yes, it is a crazy thing for us to go through! I reeeeally hope we never have to do that again! I am glad the staff was nice, that really makes a big difference.

It's great that you have both tubes clear, the HSG could have clear them out a little more so maybe it will help!!

How long have you been trying? We have been trying a total of three years but we weren't trying very hard until after the first year when I didn't get pregnant. I am 38 and my husband is 35. I am pretty regular, LP is about 13 days. I have been temping for two years and have perfect temps, can always tell ovulation date because of the progesterone temp spike.

I am going to *try* to wait until af is due. I have grown so tired of being disappointed with so many BFNs so I am going to try not to psyche myself out too much.

I am 9dpo. This month I have been feeling all kinds of strange things though, maybe this is the month! FX!

I wish you so much luck this month as well!!
