belly piercing healing ?

anyone found that if they take there bar out the hole closes up ? im nearlly 6 months and had to take my bar out today as top hole is red and sore but dont want it to heal up ive ordered some maternity ones off ebay but waiting for them to come, anyone know if it will heal quick as i dont want it to heal if i can help it ? but ive only got to wait for these ones to come and i hope they dont make it sore too ?? xxxx

How long have you had it done for?

Ive had mine about 5 years and It takes a few weeks before it starts to heal, but you have to push it back through which probably isnt the best thing to do when you're pregnant incase of infections and that. It probably wouldn't happen, but better to be safe than sorry.

Could you not push your old one through once a day to make sure the hole is still there?

the same happened to me, i ordered one of ebay and whilst i was waiting for it to come i jus had to keep pushing my other one through but i found that if i forgot for a day or two it would start to close up. but now i have my maternity one in all is fine, and i really hope i dnt hav to take this one out for any reason because i really dont want it to close up!

Luckily I haven't had a problem with my belly bar yet. I should probably order a maternity one soon though just to be safe =)

I had the same problem with my belly piercing, except earlier on. I was told it was my hormones that made mine red, and it even started to get puss around it. I had had mine for 5-6 years. I never put another one it, though. Its closed up now, but it is still red. REALLY red. There was a woman at my mothers work that said hers stayed red through her whole pregnancy though, and my doctor says there's nothing wrong wiht it. So, I'm not worrying about it.
I would do like the others said though, and push it through once a day if you really want to keep it. I would make sure you are cleaning it everyday when you do it, as well as the ring you are using to poke through it.

Try using tea tree oil on the infection.. it's a natural healing agent, cleans it up and kind of numbs it. May make it a little more comfortable.

i keep puttin mine back through every few days and no problems with it yet. my sister had hers out all the way through and was no trouble getting the bar back through after her baby was born, but a big pussy thing cane out the hole, like a black head!!!
