does anyone know what i'll be entitled to? my mat pay finishes next week- the one paid by the gov.

i am...

single- obv
not working- baby has been sick since jan
no other income apart from housing ben, tax credit, child benefit and child maintenence of £20 a month
was on jsa then income support before baby.

any ideas what i'll go on now? i dont intend working until my lo is totally ok. she needs me too much at the moment

thanks for any help in advance :flower:

It sounds like you already get everything you're entitled to hun. Re-apply for income support :)

you are entilted to Income support and child tax credit because your a single parent, if your child is sick you might be able to get extra for that, i would advise you contact your local job centre and get the forms sorted, if you were on JSA when u got pregnant then u really should have been put onto income support when you were 29weeks pregnant.

best of luck hun x

oh with all the benifits you will get if your over 21 then you'll get

£61.50 income support
£57.50 child tax credit and
£20 child benefit.

hope this helps x

thanks for your help. i was going to phone them tomorrow just looking for opinions on here first :)
yeah my jsa changed to income support at 29weeks.
i just wondered what id go back onto. not sure what the criteria is for income support but didnt think i could get jsa cause i wont be looking for a job.

You would still get income support, for that all you have to do is go to the job centre every 6 months, tell them if you want to work or not and then thats it, but seems like your on everything you should be xxx

I dont really know what you get hun to be fair but I just wanted to say hope you get it sorted x

I get, income support, 128 a fortnight, child benefit 20 a week, child tax credits 63 a week and rent is paid directly to my landlord, thats what u will get, and a recuction on council tax, mines band A and 196 a year. go to jobcentre tho, u will still get ur 20 child maintenece a month and im not sure if youd qualify for help because sophie is sick or not............

i applied for income support today so that should start when my mat allowance stops

what you mean dont you get any help?
i get housing benefit but it gets paid to me
i find it easier that way anyway because i probably spend it on other things and other payments pay rent. depends what gets paid in and what i pay out when

lol i meant do you get HB.
I find it easier this way, i basically have no rent type thing. All i have to worry about is bills and council tax. and like my own things food toiletries etc, i couldnt budget to have 485 in my acc each month and i didnt have the first 2 or 3 months rent to pay while the HB was being cleared, (he would of needed the rent even before i got the HB, which i didnt have, but if paid directly to him he was willing to basicallly go rent free untill it cleared and he got it in arrears if that makes sense!)

Wow your landlord sounds fab claire!!! Not many would do that, but your place is coming along, had a nosy on ya facebook other day xxx

awryte i see what you mean.
i just seem to have money there when my rent comes off and if not i have overdraft and then more money goes in and im out of the negative again.
talkin of council tax i havent paid any this year. woops!!

i just got my first letter today about it! got to pay 21 by the 15th. gah!
