I currently breast feed but use bottles to give my LO expressed breast milk occasionally and am planning to switch to formula around 6 months - at the momment am using Avent bottles but thought the FF section would be best to get advice on which bottles u have found best and why?

Reason being is that when i switch my daughter over or even if i decide to combi feed after 6 months i will need to go and buy a heap of bottles so wanna make sure im getting the best!!

Im looking at experiences with Avent, Tommee Tippee, Mam, Dr Browns and Nuk bottles.

TIA :flower:

Ive used avent anti colic bottles since day one and they have been brilliant never had a problem xxx

i have used tommee tippee ctn and NUK, i prefer NUK and so does Harrison but i couldnt afford to change all my bottles lol. X

I recommend MAM bottles, I've used Avent and TT and although ok, I found LO to fuss a lot with these and can be very messy with dribbles lol. With the MAM ones she is very relaxed when feeding and does not get into a mess and I have found that she has had hardly any wind with these ones too.

Thanks ladies, its hard to know without trying them all!!

slighty off topic, but I hope someone can help...Can you buy a Avent breast pump and use with TT bottles? Just wondered if everything has to be the same make?

Ditto Mam, very good for combination feeding. Breastflow are good as well:thumbup:

Me too!!

I tried Delilah on tommee tippee and she just got loads of air with them so swapped to dr brown and although they are a pain to clean (theres so many parts) i love them and theres no way i would use anything else!

If its anything like the tommee tippee pump i'm pretty sure you can only use it with tommee tippee bottles coz they screw into the bottom of the pump. I've never used mine though as i went straight to formula feeding.

Molly gets on extremely well with the TT CTN ones. We also bought Dr Browns and Nuby ones but haven't noticed even the slightest difference between any of them. As she was weaned on to formula using the little TT ones, we stuck with those and haven't looked back.

I always had a range to start off with just in case. I'd say start with one brand and be open to going to the shops and buying different ones.

Dylan is 7 weeks old and I have been using Tommee Tippee bottles since day one with no issues.

I'd imagine that they are all very similar to one another and you probably can't go too far wrong no matter which brand you try.

In my experience, issues with wind, sick up, poos, etc are more down to the brand of formula you are using and whether or not your baby has a milk allergy.

A lot of is is dictated by affordability and availability as well!

I swear by the MAM bottles. My wee one had really bad colic and we tried the MAM ones and ever since then he hasn't had colic and they are so easy to sterilise too!! Would recommend them to anyone!!

I love MAM bottles too. LO doesn't get much gas on them and drinks the most milk out of them then any other bottle. He seems not to slip off the teat either
