Michael is 3 weeks old tomarrow and I was wondering when it is safe to start taking some sort of contraception and what one did you find was the best for you after birth? Thanks.xxx

I'm taking the pill at the moment, I think I started when LO was 8wks old and I had to go anyway to my 8wk check up with the doc.
I'm considering at the moment getting another implant (I had 2 before), but I need hubby first home for a few days so he can help me with LO cause the last two times my arm was bruised for a few days and hurt, therefore I wouldn't be able to look after LO properly.

I'm back on the pill - started taking after I had my post natal check at the docs. Would like the implant but OH works all the hours under the sun.
I've heard that it can be painful and can't guarantee him being home to help me with the twinnies if i were in pain afterwards so just sticking to the pill for now - i'm on Cilest and it's always worked really well for me x

we used condoms until last week and i got a copper coil

i've had a copper coil fitted coping with it ok between periods, but my god they are heavy now, so i am thinking of changing to a mirena.

I'm on the Pill, started when LO was 5 wks

Ive got the implane.. had it fitted 3 weeks after having LO :)

We've always used condoms and so that's what we're using again now, they've always worked for us and they don't mess with my hormones :)

i'm contemplating the same question
all i'll say is stay away from the injection if you ever want another child!!!!

I had the implant 6 weeks after birth and had to have it removed 6 weeks later due to 11lb weight gain. Im now on the pill but periods are completely messed up. Apparently the mix of hormones has messed my cycle up.

xx
