Any recommendations on the best shops to buy school uniforms? Our school's recommended shop is Tesco (for logo shirts and jumpers), but wondering the best place to get the rest of it. It doesn't have to be the cheapest and actually would prefer good value for money so happy to pay a bit more for good quality that isn't going to completely fall apart after one term. I noticed M&S has 20% off school uniforms at the moment, but even with that they work out to be quite a bit more than some of the others. Curious if the quality is really that much better or if I should be looking elsewhere?

I've always used m&s for that sort of thing, for supermarkets I only shop at Aldi so I'd have to make a special trip to Asda to get it. I think the prices are reasonable, when I initially priced it up it didn't seem that much more?

Hi

I have just bought all of dds uniform
I went to M&S and just did it in one big swoop. It wasn't as bad as I thought as I bought packs of two of everything and with 20% off helped alot. I even bought her school PE pumps (slow growing feet!) From there and I was surprised how cheap they were.
I think Sainsbury's are good aswell. So many deals on now.. lunch boxes and flasks seem to be the most expensive things! X

Personally I rate M&S for longevity. If youve got a younger child or one where you're going to have to replace it all 3 times a year for stains or marks then Asda

Of all the uniform we've had this year I've found Morrisons nutmeg range to be the best. Even rated it over next

Thanks all. Either way, we'll be ordering online, so just as easy from anywhere. We live in a rural area, so none of our supermarkets around here are the big ones that carry clothes anyway. I'll have a look maybe at Tesco and M&S. Tesco we have to order the logo shirts and jumpers from anyway, so might as well get a few more things since I'm already paying for shipping. For M&S, any idea how the sizes run? Mine is in size 3-4 year clothes now.

I rate Sainsburys uniforms and look out for the 25% off!

Tesco is good for club card points aswell!
I bought 5-6 which I know is going to drown her a little, she currently wears 4-5. My dd is fairly tall. 4-5 would be fine if they are still in 3-4 x

If your child is just starting school I wouldn't bother spending a lot on uniform. From my experience with DD and her friends, stuff either gets stained or lost pretty quickly.

I bought DD some M&S stuff last year when it was 20% off, although she hasn't even worn the skirts yet, because they drown her!

I've found Sainsbury stuff to be just as good and not too costly.

I just use Tesco and replace when something has a hole in it or he's outgrown it. It's lasted well for the last 2 years. Joggers do get bobbly but I guess that's just to be expected. The polo shirts are great (I buy the yellow ones). This year I'm buying the grey trousers and I imagine they'll be just as good as his school shorts. The only thing I will buy more expensive is shoes and he gets through the cheaper pairs so quickly.

I use M&S for things like polo tops/trousers/skirts and dresses. (jumpers/cardigans/anything with the school logo comes from a specialist shop) I find it very well priced and well wearing. For DS I get the permanent crease trousers with drop down hems which you snip and let down, giving hem an extra 2 inches or so. He's had the same 4 pairs of trousers for the last year and they still look like new, even the knees. I don't iron and his trousers always look like they've just been ironed because of the permanent crease.

I've just bought DDs uniform. Year R is still learning through play so I'd imagine it all gets dirty/stained rather quick. I got her polos and pinafores from Asda and m&s. I guess I'll see over the next year if the price difference was worth it? Thejumpers I get from the school.
I plan to get her shoes from Clarkes as they measure the width too and think that's important with kids feet.

FYI Just been back from Aldi you can now buy a full uniform for £5! What! Two polo shirts, plain round necked jumper and trousers and skirts..crazy cheap x
