Health visitor told me to get a thermometer now for future illnesses as Drs often ask for baby's temperature if you phone for appointment. Which ones do you have? Which are easiest to use? Any advice?

I'm not sure which brand it is as it's not right in front of me, but get one of the digital ear thermometers. They are expensive (42 quid for this one at Boots), but you'll use it a lot and pinning down a sick toddler so you can keep a thermometer in their mouth for a minute to get a reading is a nightmare. Any brand from a decent store should be fine.

I've got a non contact thermometer and it's brilliant! £40 from boots but it's can be used for the air, forehead, water, well basically anything! Defo worth the money!

I have a digital ear thermometer was expensive but worth the money just wish I had it when mollie was smaller. It's the same one they use in hospital! X

Hey. Checking the temperature in the ear gives the most accurate reading. Using the forehead ones will give a lower reading that the actual temperature. The braun thermoscan are the ones that the doctors use and really easy to use. You do need to keep buying replacement caps though.

This is the one we have but there is a newer version now. X

I have a calpol thermometer but I can honestly say ive used it a handful of times and was a massive waste of money!
The Dr has never asked me what Los temperature is as they can quickly do it themselves. You know yourself if your lo feels hot or cold or not right.

Braun thermoscan too. They're usually a really good price on Amazon
