so its been 8 years since i have had a baby..and i feel like a brand new mom all over again. my csection is June 26, and I am just trying to get all my ducks in a row....
any suggestions for the best underwear after csection? right now i am using hipsters from motherhood....but they sit right where my scar is...so i know that will not work.

The bigger the better, way over your belly button, and cotton is best, as it's breathable and wont make you sweat.

^^WSS. big knickers that will go way above your scar line are the way to go.

Over the belly button is the best, annoying but it's better for your scar.

I just brought regular cotton pants which worked well for me

Xx

Good luck for your section when the time comes! :flower:

Big pants. I got some in the next size up that sat up near my belly button.

I agree with the previous posters about big underwear, it will make things so much more comfortable. Good luck!

Definitely the bigger the better!! I just got a couple if pack of black cotton full briefs. Went up to my belly button, which was great as I was sore and bruised all in between. I'm over a year in and still struggle to wear hipsters that sit on my scar line :( x

for sure the bigger the better! I had my twins via c-section and I loved my big cotton panties...so comfortable and didn't aggravate my scar

my hospital provided really big panties for the big pads they give you...those are good for the first 24 hours....my hospital made me shower 24 hours after the c-section....the best way to remove the band-aid over the cut...the warm water soaking through the cotton band-aid will dissolve the adhesive and the band-aid slips right off! good luck! :)

thanks everyone!!!!

but.....

I guess what im saying is....how do you know what size?
I dont want to have saggy butt underwear....
you know?

idk, maybe im making this more difficult than it should be. lol

I just need to go out and look around I guess.

you will need saggy butt underwear lol but you will have them pulled up to your belly button so they wont be saggy :p theyre not the nicest looking but at that point in time comfort and functionality will be key ... the higher up they go the better they will hold the gauze pad over the incision and the "diaper" pad down below

I got them 1 size bigger than my pre pregnancy size and they were fine.

mine were some old pairs that my mom had....they were really big on me...covered halfway up my tummy but I needed that support after stretching with twins!

but I am guessing one or two sizes bigger than what you normally wear...hope that helps!

I was going to suggst the same thing big cotton undies that go over your belly button. I ran out of undies when I was in hospital and OH had to go buy me some, he washed them and gave them to me and they were granny undies. I laughed but wore them because I had nothing else and they were actually really comfy for my c-section.

thanks everyone!!!!!

I will be going to get some in the next month or so....
your ideas/suggestions really helped.
thanks :)

The hospital gave me these really fantastic cotton mesh boy-short type underwear. They were awesome cause they were really comfortable without being baggy. They sent me home with a few packs. Maybe see if your hospital provides something similar?

During my 4 days stay at the hospital, they gave me (or put one on me right after the c-section) a very stretchy gauze material disposable underwear. They also lined it with a super thick pad, plus another one of those blue medical liner sheet (folded really long), because you can still have alot of blood the first day. This disposable underwear, I was told by the nurse that, you can hand wash it and it dries within a few hours. So that's what I did. THey didn't want to give me another one. But I'd rather get that one dirty than my own ones dirty.

After I went home, bleeding was a lot less, so yes I did get a few cotton ones that goes all the way up covering the belly button. So much more comfortable.

I wore big granny undies in a size bigger than normal as my tummy was still very swollen. A tip one of the mw have me was to put a maternity pad long ways along my scar inside my undies to protect it and it worked really well.

Just don't be like me and continue wearing granny undies well after you've recovered. My poor hubby

I bought mothercare maternity but they were rubbish...ended up in hubbys old shorts lol!!!!! They're great coz you can tuck pads round your incision and they pull all the way up to your boobs...super comfy and glamourous of course!!
