Best way to clean baby stuff??

We are reusing some of DS's stuff, I have bought a new mattress but we will be using his old pram, carrycot, car seat, baby swing etc. It has been stored for 2 ish years, what is the best way to clean it so it is safe for the new baby? I keep hearing about hiring steam cleaners...what is a steam cleaner lol...how do I hire one?!

I'd just remove covers n put in washin machine and wipe down hard surfaces with dettol spray. Xx
