Hi ladies, I am new to this forum. Hubby and I have been TTC for a year, my cycle is a little irregular so sometimes we miss ovulation but thankfully we timed it perfectly this month. And I thought I might be pregnant when my chart went triphasic a few days ago (from 37.15 to 37.35). That had never happened before.

Yesterday morning (13 DPO) I had about a teaspoon of crusty dark brown spotting (no red, no clumps, no cramping). Did two different HPT, both came back BFP (very solid lines on both, showed within seconds), went to the doctors to ask about the blood and their urine test came back negative so they took some blood for further testing (assume it's because my period is not late yet and their urine tests are not as sensitive). The doctor confused me by saying it is possible for home test to be positive even though the egg has not implanted, I thought you didnt get HcG without implantation???

I had no more spotting yesterday after 2pm, this morning got up and rushed to the loo, strained and about 1/2 teaspoon of light brown watery gunk came out. I am hoping it was the leftovers from yesterday. AF is due today or tomorrow, this morning's HPT is still solid BFP, and my temperature has rocketed up even further this morning (37.48). I feel like AF is coming as my stomach feels 'full' (best way I can describe it!). May just be wind I guess(!), I am a bundle of nerves lol and worrying about every single twinge in my tummy region. I have no cramping though thank god. I have no appetite (again, could be nerves) and boobs a little sore but not too much, no other pregnancy symptoms.

I guess just wanted to know how much to worry about the spotting and if others have had this and gone on to have a healthy pregnancy. Or should I resign myself to the fact that this is probably a chemical pregnancy and not get over excited about the BFP (which was a first for me).

Blood test results coming back this afternoon, fingers and toes and everything else crossed!!

:hugs: to you hun for going through this.

dont really no what to say i had spotting two days ago and the m/w told me dont worry but if i fill a pad then ring back. spotting is normal in some prgnancys the first couple of weeks. let us now how you go on :hugs: and good luck

Hi,

I am currently going through a similar thing myself at the moment, when i went to the loo this afternoon there was some light watery brownish stuff like when you are coming towards the end of your period. I am also worried somethingis going wrong, however from what i have read it's quite common and lots of ladies go on to have a perfectly happy baby.
It is also common to feel bloated or like you have a full uterus like before you get a period.
Unless you have heavy bleeding or blood clots you should be ok.

Please let us know when you hear back from the docs!

I hope it's good news for you!

xx

Thanks for the good wishes Bluefairy, hope it's good news for you too. You are right it looked exactly like the brown gunk you get at the end of period (sorry everyone TMI!!)!

Just realised missed two symptoms - going to the loo for a wee every half hour it seems, dont know where all this water is coming from?! Also absolutely freezing, all the time. My feet and hands feel like ice , but when husband touches them he says they are really hot.

Hiya,

I just wanted to let you know I had just over 2 weeks of brown spotting, starting from day AF was due. Mainly just on wiping, but sometimes it made it into my knickers. It was pretty gunky and had brown stringy bits in it sometimes, which I had always thought was womb lining!. Twice it went pinky/red and I thought it was all over but went for a scan at 6+3 and there was a little bean with a heart beating away.

Little bean is now feeling like much bigger bean and is wriggling constantly! I wish you all the best. Let us know how you get on.

I had brownish spotting in my last pregnancy at weeks 5 to 7 and everything was OK so it can be normal hun! Try not to worry (easier said than done I know!)

I had brown spotting from about 7-16dpo and I had 3 days of red blood, just a tiny bit, one was the day my period was due. I also had brown spotting from about 8/9 weeks and have had it ever since, and everything is fine :D

Dark brown spotting = old blood, more than likely implantation bleeding. I had this the other day for a couple days, and now has stopped.

Hi all, thanks so much for all your replies, I feel much much better now. The brown spotting has stopped and after a few very light brown spots yesterday morning (only on wiping, think it was just the final remnants of the bleed from the day before) I have not had any since. There was no pink or red in it at any time so I knew it was old blood but i thought DPO13 was too late for implantation bleeding, hence the worry. My HPTs are still coming strong positive (literally in 2 seconds strong line) and temperature is still silly high, so I am keeping everything crossed it was just as you say. My blood test results from the emergency surgery I went to at the weekend came back positive (ie pregnant), as if I didnt know that already! the doctor there told me the spotting can happen and not to worry. Going to my usual surgery today to get my beta levels checked. I am 37 and this is my first pregnancy and I know age is a big factor in early miscarriages.. But trying to stay positive, hoping for the best, being prepared for the worst :)

So glad to hear the good news for you and baby! Keep us updated on your progress!

The first trimester seems to be dragging on for ages...I just want to get to the next stage so i can stop worrying so much!

My bleeding stopped the following day and i have a check up on Wednesday with the docs so hopefully I can get an early scan and it would put my mind at rest.

I am buying a doppler though so if ever I'm worried about something I can use it to find the heartbeat and stop worrying so much....might be helpful for you if you are a worrier like me too!

xxx
