Hey,

I haven't been on this forum for a while as... well, we'd kinda mostly given up trying. Now I'm back, and I qualify for the over 35's :D

I'm 36, diabetic, morbidly obese, and ttc for over 7 years. (I need to throw in the diabetic and obese thing because those are the two reasons why my GP has no interest in offering any help).
A couple of months ago, him indoors had a particularly broody few moments, so we began temping again. Got my baseline, my ovulation days were pretty standard - it's taken 26 years of menstruating for me to finally have a 28 day menstrual cycle and I seem to ovulate on day 14.

I'm now on CD32, so only a few days late. Last night I randomly decided to do a pregnancy test (One step, mid stream, cheapie). Didn't tell hubby I was doing it, and sat in the bathroom and watched that pink dye swish past leaving a BFP in it's wake.
So, I ran down stairs, threw the test at hubby whose eyes nearly popped out of his head. I've had water lines before, this didn't look like one.. it was exactly like the control line, big, fat and pink.
We sat and stared at it for about 5 minutes, after which it began to fade. After 10 minutes it was a faint line. Then it vanished completely.

Have no symptoms of either incoming period, or pg. Just late, that's all.

I'm not doing another test until Monday (that's when Amazon will deliver me a new batch).

The instructions say read at 5 minutes... at that point it was BFP. But I'm well aware that a BFP shouldn't fade. Has anyone ever had this happen?

Didn't want to read and run but I have no experience. Hope it is a bfp!! Gl

What kind of test was it?. Sounds like it could be a invalid test a real BFP should not fade to negative.

I've heard of false negatives, but I've also heard there are no false positives. I'm no expert, but I believe if it showed up BFP, then you are more than likely pregnant. I wouldn't worry about symptoms right away because not everyone gets them right away. I was 6 weeks before I got any symptoms. Also, when reading the directions on the paper pamphlet inside the test box, it will tell you that anything past 10 minutes isn't accurate. Hopefully this will all work out in your favor!! Good luck

i had one that flashed up pg stayed and went after 5 mins and af came a few days late so maybe false neg. it was a cheapie from asda wont use them again.
