i know were not all doctors on here, but i truly believe advise from this forum is the best as it can be from experience.

i had a m/c 6 weeks ago today. bleeding lasted a week then the day i realised i was no longer bleeding we started trying again as we were SO SO eager (and still are!!!)

week and a half later i did a Clear Blue digi, it read 'pregnant 1-2'
i did a 1 more that was the same. then another wich read not pregnant then another wich read pregnant 1-2 .. ?????????

i have done 4 first response, all BFP. first was very faint. last was darker!!!

left over hcg or new pregnancy? i have not yet had a period either and i believe i should of had one by now?!

It could be! I got my bfp 8 weeks after my last mc. How many weeks were you when you mc? Might be worth searching on here to see if anyone has posted how long it takes your hcg to go down. But I think you could definitely be in with a chance. gl xxxxxxxxx

I always think the only way you can truly tell is by asking the dr for quantative hcg testing - if over 48 hours the actual number is increasing you can be sure that it's a new pg. If it's going down then it is either residual hcg from your previous pg or unfortunately another mc - and I doubt you could differeniate at this stage - I would prefer - if that was the case - to assume it was residual hcg - just my personal way of looking at it.

I am sorry for your loss and truly hope this is a new, sticky bfp.

did you lose your baby or have it medically taking away but after 6 weeks i wouldnt think it would be from your loss i think it could be a new baby

First of all sorry for you loss.

My hospital said it taken 1-2 weeks for the hormone to get out of your system and I had to test negative before the doctor would discharge me, they said if I didn't before 10 days I have to go and get a scan to check nothing was left. Sometimes if something is left behind it can keep growing, not a baby but tissue, and cause you to still produce the hormone (and needs to be removed).

You have one of two scenarios I think a) you have retained some products from the miscarriage which means you need to get it checked out asap b) you read hormones from the mc and then got pregnant again (although I think normally you won't ovulate whilst you have HCG hormones in your system but don't quote me). Either way hon I think you need to speak to a doctor. :hugs:
