I asked a similar question on another board a while ago, but thought I'd seek out those who might really know (i.e. already pregnant). Thanks in advance for any insights.

So I've been tracking my cycle for a year and a half or so, and I know that every cycle, a few days before I get my period, I get watery cm - I assume it's the breakdown of the corpus luteum (it's round, wet spots on my underwear, and TCOYF explains it as CL breakdown), and it always bums me out because I know the cycle didn't work.
But, I've seen on charts that watery cm can also precede a bfp. What I can't tell is whether it happens for the same women, hence my question -- did you regularly have watery cm and still have it your bfp cycle? Or did you never have it and only get it your bfp cycle? Or some variation thereof? (In other words, is watery cm ALWAYS impending af, or can I keep my hopes up still because although it always has been af before, it can also mean impending bfp.)

Last night (9dpo) I had what I got super excited to think was implantation spotting, and there have been a few other oddities this cycle (no sore breasts, for example), but today I got that watery cm that always spells doom/af for me. I have tried really hard to stop symptom spotting because it always means nothing, but that spotting really set me off because it hasn't happened in all the time I've been trying.

Anyone?

Hey there hope u get ur Bfp soon! Tbh I never hav any symptoms til 6weeks. Nothing apart from a missing period. GL hun x

I was both. On/off watery CM before AF, and the month of BFP was a bit more watery CM. For me, it wasnt a sign either way.

Thanks, cookette! So did you think af was on the way as usual, but bfp?

Watery and ewcm after ov are caused by oestrogen rises. This can be as the corpus luteuam is dying and af is imminent or it can be due to conception. To answer your question, yes I've had ewcm a couple of days before my Bfp in all three of my Bfp cycles. However, I've also had it in non pregnant cycles. The best of luck to you. Hope to see you here very very soon xx

Thanks, MaisyMay - ain't that always the rub: 99% of signs can mean either af or conception, and no way to know until we wait it out...

The pink smear while wiping yesterday is more promising than anything else that's ever happened, but hope is cruel. :)

I too would have watery cm before af but with both this pregnancy and my previous mc I had lots of creamy/ewcm continuing from ov and still ongoing. Every woman is different though so this is just my experience. Best of luck!

Thanks, Victoria. I've never had ewcm after ov except last cycle I had 4 days of it, which was odd, and this cycle 1 day a few days ago. It's the wet spots that perplex me.
Oh, well. A few more days to wait.

Thanks, cookette! So did you think af was on the way as usual, but bfp?

I had been sick so truly thought I hadn't even ovulated since my chart was all over the place. My first signs were really intense cramps, but all in front, not my normal back pains with AF.

It just happened again - darker pinky/red this time, still the same scant amount, just on wiping after peeing, and nothing more.
I've never started my period on cd10 (I'm fairly confident when I o'ed because I use multiple measures to verify - if anything, I'm less than 10, no way more).

Now I'm even more puzzled. :)

I'm going to wait for the weekend, I think. That way, I can see if the spotting picks up or stops - plus, if it is IB, give the hcg a chance to build up.

I always had lots of cm every cycle so I'm not much help there my first sign was sharp pains in lower back I got my bfp at 10 dpo but it was dark enough would have showed at 9 dpo gl hope you get a bfp please update I will be looking

Test was negative. It's 4 days since the spotting and 2/3 days before expected af, so I was hoping to see something. All I had in the house were the test strips that came with my opks (answer brand) - I don't know how sensitive they are.

I'm 1 or 2 days out from expected period and first response early result was blaring negative. I never test, but this month just had so many symptoms I've not had before - sore throat, spotting, higher than normal temps, not-sore breasts. Then I spent the last hour trying to find the chart that used to be in the box with % accuracy by day because I know the test isn't 99% accurate early, but I wanted to know if I should hold out any hope.

Finally found what I was looking for on another board, but it doesn't indicate brand:
HPT accuracy DPO*
10 dpo : 35%*
11 dpo : 51%*
12 dpo : 62%*
13 dpo : 68%*
14 dpo : 74%*
15 dpo : 80%*
16 dpo : 88%*
17 dpo : 92%*
18 dpo : 99%

One thing that always drives me crazy when I search for answers is when people wouldn't ever update if they were or weren't pregnant, so I will but I'm not feeling very optimistic anymore.

Check out this link - it's not the company figures but compiled from real women giving their positives and dpo.

Hi mtgnm, I'm sorry you got a bfn. Just wondering, when you say you're tracking your cycle do you mean bbt? Are you certain of your ov day? Any chance you see another temp shift on your chart that could indicate ov a bit later? This happened to me on one of my Bfp cycles. I started to doubt my ov day when I got to a supposed 14dpo. I hadn't tested yet but my symptoms and chart looked a bit off.

Yeah, I track with bbt and opk and the vaginal monitor, so I am certain of when I ovulate (+/- 1 day at most).
My temp dropped way down today, so I expect that's it. Dunno what that faint spotting was last week, then - maybe it tried to stick but didn't. Stupid hopes and getting them up.
