when did you stop putting a bib on your little ones?? my 14 month old son is always constantly dribbling i just feel like im not gonna get him out of bibs :(

I didnt stop till he was around two (hes two and a half now). As soon as he could eating yougurts himself without spilling a drop, because i know thats a messy thing to eat and he mastered it lol. I am quite obsessive with keeping his clothes clean though so im sure he could have gone without them long before that :)

I am so glad you asked this question! We still have a bib on our boy at 13 months as he constantly dribbles. His t-shirts get soaked so we keep a bib on him. My sister jokes 'when will you stop him wearing a bib' and I always answer 'when he stops dribbling!'.

x

We still have a bib on Lachlan sometimes for meals if I know he won't be entirely tidy (i.e. spaghetti bolognaise). But for dribbling...we got rid of them around 18 months, or between then and two I think  It will depend on when your LO has most of his teeth in.

I dont put paige in bibs apart from when shes eating something messy.. Although i always have one to hand to wipe away the dribbles! Shes not as dribbly now as she was a couple of months ago, and she tends to wipe them away herself anyway (usually with her sleeve!)

We haven't used bibs when eating for months. I have a few of those bibs with arms for really messy dinners. Sometimes put a dribble bib on him if he's very dribbley from teething x

I've never really used bibs i don't like them :/ Whenever he eats (at home) i normally just take his top off so he don't stain clothes, when were out he don't generally eat messy food so it's not been a problem.

ETA: He has never been much of a dribbler either i don't think Ive ever seen him dribble tbh lol

We stopped using them months ago. LO isnt much of a dribbler even when teething. He will have a full set of teeth when these last two have finished coming through!

For eating he doesn't really need one but sometimes when were out ill put a little bandana style bib on him just incase. I don't like it when were out and his clothes are dirty.

Feel like i'm the only one with a messy toddler!

My LO is 27 months and STILL has to wear a bib.

Especially eating cereal, in the mornings she will get more cereal in her lap than in her mouth! Once our extension is complete and my new kitchen table arrives then it might be different if i sit her at the table? Otherwise in her Ikea highchair, she's a mucky puppy!

Edited to say obviously she doesn't wear a bib for dribbling, only eating..

awww my boy only has four teeth so far, he cut his first tooth at 9 months old, got a feeling he will be in bibs for much longer than i thought :( his clothes all get soaked and i have to keep changing him! xxx

She's never been a massive dribbler, so never used bibs apart from eating. She doesn't have one for milk now, only food. I tend to use a plastic one with a crumb catcher though if it's toast or something.

My LO learned how to pull them off at about 9 months old! She might entertain one with sleeves occasionally! Lunch is always a sandwich or something she can't spill and for dinner she is either topless or I just accept the mess!

We are still using them, but we use dribble bibs, my mum makes them for a living :) only £1!

i cant wait till i can get rid of the bibs, he has one all the time apart from when hes in bed of course :)
