Most big corporations have a marketing staff that would be well aware, I think. And if Ellen is making fun of your product? That's pretty high profile.
My guess is that heads are rolling, but who knows? Maybe they figured it worked for razors, so why not pens and are genuinely confused as to the reaction? Maybe they will get some surprise sales as gag gifts?
