So xmas is nearly here, and it is our first year with LO and being in our own home. So i have invited my family round.

So i have to cater for 7 adults, 1 child and a baby which normally woudlnt be an issue but i have the worlds smallest kitchen.

So does any one have ideas for foods that i pre cook...ie meat, veg that can be cooked the night before with out tasting like dry carboard.

Cheers

I can't help but this is exactly my situation too... (Minus the 1 child).. I've got 7 adults and LO! And a tinyyyy kitchen!

So I'm looking for answers too lol... X

this is the same as us! we did do it last yea for 6 and it was fab! we pre cooked the meat the night before, and warmed it about 30 mins before the end, we had pre made yorkshires and popped them in the oven as we started to dish up (allows enough time to cook them, by the time you have dished everything up. veg we cut/prepared the night before so we just had to literally cook, we also used a steamer for this, so you have extra hob space if needed. and we just worked together in the cooking, and it all came together, but my advice is do all the prep the night before.

last year my naighbour was away so i used her kitchen too! haha

prep it the night before, the gammon im doing in slow cooker. use the steamer for veg.
mums bought the turkey which wont fit in our oven so shes cooking it then i'll slice & warm it in the oven with the yorkies. xx

We take the turkey out about 1/2 hr before and leave it to rest wrapped up in tin foil, then throw in the stuffing, veg etc... Meat is still hot when we serve it.

Do things in the slow cooker, microwave and steamer if you have them as it's surprising what all needs to go in the oven.

I always cook the turkey the day before and I roast most my veg so the hob can freed up for other things

so i dont do turkey, as not a big fan so thinking i could do a beef joint the night before as that taste good hot or cold. Then two veg in the steamer, whilst leaving the hob for sauses/ 3rd veg. then the oven for potatos/parsnip/ yorksires/ pigs in blankets.

hmm sounds doable. cheers ladies.

What do you recoment for started/pudding. i know the norm is prawn cocktail (which easy peezy and can be made day before) or melon/ham. but thoughts on pudding?

We do Christmas cake and a cheese board. Both are prepped and stored before hand.
