Im just looking for a bit of advice ive been reading diff things ova the net not sure what to believe :/ Im pregnant and the father doesnt want anything to do with the pregnacy he's too busy with his new realionship :growlmad: Ive mailed him but got nothing back! i told him when i first found out he said hes happy to do what i want but since then nothing at all... i was just wondering...

Can i put the his on the birth certificate if he's not actually there with me?? i've read you cant  I know he'll defo not want this but if his name isnt on it then what happens with child maintenance?? Im planning to go through csa when baby is born, its as much responsibilty to pay as much as mine..

Any advice, thnx x

He can't be put on the birth certificate if he's not with you. If he isn't on the birth cetificate you can still go through CSA, it doesn't make any difference :)

We went through CSA and he isn't on the birth certificate!

he cant be put on the BC he has to be there.
you can still go through CSA too :)
It'll all be fine
dont worry yourself
:hugs: xxx

Hi ya

If he is not present at the time of getting the BC then the only way he can be on the BC is if he signs a declaration. I know this because FOB was away with the army when LO was born and it was our only option. I went ahead without in the end as we weren't in a relationship at the time anyway so he is not on the BC.

The CSA will not care his name does not appear on the BC. They will write to him and ask if he confirms the child is his. If he denies it, then he will have to do a DNA test. The CSA pay for it and if it comes back that he is the dad then FOB has to repay the CSA for that test. If he is not then no one pays for it. You will just not be able to chase him for money obviously.

What everyone has said.

Bear in mind that if he did agree to go with you and be put on the BC then he would be entitled to legal joint parental responsibility... meaning that if he changes his mind, or turns funny, when babe is born, then he is legally entitled to soo much more... For example.. he wouldn't have to legally give you the baby back after any visitations (this is my issue (and biggest fear) at the moment)!

The CSA will work based on his acceptance as father, or a DNA test so don't worry about that side of it.

hope things go well.
