Hi ladies!! I want to make a birth plan as with my last L&D with my DS nothing I wanted was does and things I didn't want done were done. Like they automatically gave me pitocin AFTER my delivery was completed and I had no signs of hemmorhage. There was no necessity for it and yet it caused so much pain for me that I couldn't even breast feed my son or hold him. I begged them to stop it but they refused. Which I've learned that they shouldn't have done. If I don't want a medication they can't give it. Anyways, I want to ensure the things I want done are done.

Have any of you made a birth plan or are you planning to? And if so, could you post yours so I can see how it's outline or how you did yours?
I'd love to see some examples :)

I'll post mine tomorrow when I can hop on the computer :). If you Google birth plan templates you should find lots of basic (and very in depth) outlines to follow.

Generally its better to stick to 1-2 pages rather than a book though as the longer it is the less likely anyone is to actually read it.

I do advise having contingency plans as well as your ideal situation. I had contingencies for failure to progress, c-section and baby needing to go to NICU off the top of my head.

I never did hand out my birth plan with DD but fortunately I couldn't have asked for a better birth experience and with the exception of the induction, pretty much everything happened that was important to me.

Ive printed this one off, there is a link at the bottom of the page to print a blank one, then you and your partner can fill it in together, thats my plan for tonight too :)
