It all started on Wednesday 15th December, I woke up at around 7.30am with such a bad pressure at my front that I couldn't stand, I couldn't even sit.
The pain kept coming and going and I thought I was having braxton hicks. I rang the labour ward who said to come in just incase. I did, and they said they were contractions and I was half a cm dilated. To come back when the contractions were every 3mins apart or the pain was too bad. That was at 12pm - 1pm.
At 5pm the contractions were every 2-3mins apart. They sent me back up again to be checked. I was 1-2cm dilated. They sent me home again!!
At 1am on Thursday 16th December I went back up as the pain was too much to bear. They checked me and I was only 2-3cm dilated. She let me have a bath, get on the birthing ball and use some gas and air.
My midwife checked me at 4.05am and I was 5cm dilated just after she did that my waters broke all over. I remember high fiving my OH shouting "I did it!!"
Then after half an hour my midwife came back to check Adams heartbeat, I told her I couldn't take the pressure and that I had to push, she checked me for the sake of it and I was 10cm dilated.
After an hour of pushing he got stuck and I just couldn't do it anymore. They got a doctor in to give me a hand. He used the ventouse and 2 pushes later my son was born at 7am. (I missed out the part of getting diamorphine at 2amish. And the time between trying not to push and actually starting to push at like 5.55am)
My beautiful son was delivered straight on my chest and I didn't tear or anything .
I'd totally do it again!!
funny moments:
When I was on the birthing ball I said I looked like pacman since it was yellow and I kept going wacka wacka wacka
I also said I sounded like darth vader in duck form when I used gas and air
When the doctor pulled my son free I told him I liked him and I also liked his accent since he was dutch.
