I was booked in for induction on Saturday 18th but I just really wanted to go into labour naturally. It got to Friday evening and I just accepted the fact it wasn't going to happen and got my stuff ready for the morning. I was watching TV at about 10pm Friday night when I felt this weird 'pop' and my waters had broke! There wasn't much there tho,it looked like I had just wet myself! Phoned hospital and they said to come in once I started getting contractions or wait until 8.30 Saturday morning (when I was supposed to be getting induced)
At about midnight I started getting contractions every ten mins and they were coming on strong! Managed to wait it out until the morning and got to hospital at half 8. I was put into a room with other girls and they said they was still going to induce me as I was 12 days over. They checked me at about 11am and I was always 3cm dialated so they said I didn't need inducing after all! Pains were unbearable, got gas and air at 5pm and at that point I was still only 3cm! They wanted to put me on a drip to start my contractions so moved me into my own room. They checked me again at 11pm and I was 8cm. Checked again at 3am (at this point I was in absolute agony and screaming at everyone trying to help me!) And I was still 8cm. The doctor said as I was stuck at 8cm I needed an epidural to help me. Got epidural and it didn't work on the right side of my body so was absolutely pointless!
By 5am the doctor had said he would give me another hour to try and get to 10cm, if not I would need an emergency c-section as my waters had been broke for 30+ hours and they was risking infection for LO. At this point I called my mum and asked her to come up as I was sh*ting myself! Doctor came back at 6.30am and I'd gone back to 7cm. They realised baby was too big for me and I wasn't gonna be able to push her out and took me to theatre straight away. OH came in with me and my mum waited outside but I wanted them both there but my crying didn't work haha! They took the epidural out and gave me a spinal which worked soo good! At this point I had been through so much I was past caring about the section! Although I was completley numb I could feel them playing about with my insides and pull the baby out it was so weird!
I felt them pull her out and she didn't cry for what felt like hours after, I was panicing so much and nobody would tell me what was going on! Turns out the cord was wrapped around her neck twice and her shoulders and she pooped inside me! Apperently she came out blue and floppy and needed reseccitating! But they didn't even bother to tell me this, they told my mum and she's the one who told me!
I'm so glad my LO is fine now tho! She was born Sunday 19th August at 07.08am weighing 9lbs 2oz the little chubber. Kept me waiting 13 days!
All I can say is I have 10000% respect for anyone who gives birth without drugs because it was horrific! Not trying to put anyone off because obviously she was too big for me, but some of you girls are amazing I don't know how you do it! Sorry this was so long, I'm still at hospital, LO is asleep and I'm so bored haha!

Know how you feel about the epi though! I had two and neither worked!
