At 38+6(monday) I went into a routine appoitment, just the standard heart rate/belly check. During the mw's exam I was having a contraction and she observed a few heart decels, and sent me to be monitored. All came back well at the hospital with his heart rate, but I was 4 cm dilated, and have a.history of rapid birth so that combined with a positive group beta strep, they made the decision to induce me. We started pitocin at 7 pm with my second round of antibiotics. For some reason, the pit wasnt working the way it should be, so they just kept turning it up. At 1030, my nurse realized my iv line was kinked and thats why contractions werent picking up. She unkinked it, but didnt turn the pit.down to restart it....
within minutes, he started having heart decels again. Bad. Pit was turned off,.I was given oxygen, and he stabilized. Pit was turned back on at 11, and I ordered an epidural at 1110 thinking it would be a long night. An hour later, just as the tech was going to walk into give me the epi, I realized he was coming! Everyone was in shock! He was just aout crowning when the midwife came running in... she nearly missed it, and he was.nearly born in his amniotic sac because my waters never ruptured, until the.midwife did it. Two minutes later, he was completely here! 1219 am, weight 6 lbs 15.5 ounces, and 20 inches long Coltin Alexander was born! He is entirely healthy and a pro breast feeder. Pretty lazy so far though! We leave the hospital tomorrow, and I.will.upload a few photos then as I cant do.it from my phone. But hes perfect! ![Cloud 9 :cloud9: :cloud9:](/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/cloud9.gif)
