Hello ladies.
Here it is at last with nearly all the gory details.
Anthea was born on May 30th at 11:09.
I went to hospital the night before because I had felt contrractions since luchtime and they had slowed down a bit but not stopped in the afternoon, so I decided to go and get checked again. (For the record, I don't feel contractions so that's why I went when I did)
Anyway, when I got there I was still 2cm dilated so things hadn't changed since the time before but I had contractions that weren't regular in strength.
The midwife told me that they would keep me overnight and if things hadn't changed then, they might send me home. She came back later telling me that if things hadn't progressed through night, they might induce me as my previous labours were quick and may not give me enough time to get there.
I agreed to that because I was a bit worried about my kids being there when I gave birth...
Anyway, through night I felt some contractions which kept me awake for a couple of hours and in the morning I had progressed to 4 cm.
I went in the labour room and I had to wait for the midwife which allowed me to use the ball for the first time. When she got back, she strapped me to the monitoring machine and she broke my waters around 10 o'clock.
The painful contractions started a bit later and I gave birth as I said at 11:09.
This was actually longer than with my first daughter but anyway I managed to get there in time which was a relief.
The difficult time was actually after as if I don't feel the contractions before my waters are broken, I could feel the ones after I gave birth and before I delivered the placenta. That took about an hour and it was painful. Apparently, it gets worse the more kids you have and I didn't remember that with my previous babies. I actually was given gas and air after I had given birth!!!![Wacko  ](/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/wacko.gif)
I had a small vaginal tear but I didn't have to have stitches for which I was grateful.
Anyway, Anthea weighed 3.320kg, she was 48cm and absolutely perfect.
Since then, she has been a very good baby. She doesn't cry much at all and she even doesn't keep me awake much at night. The last couple of night, she had her last bottle around 11pm and only woke up around 5:30 and 6am. So I am a very lucky mum!
I hope everyone with babies are doing well and that you ladies who are still waiting to hold your little ones don't have to wait much longer and that everything goes smoothly (or as much as possible anyway!)
