Short version in spoiler at bottom
On 27th of August (38+4) around 2 am i work up with what I thought was contractions, but after days of braxton hicks leading to nothing I wouldn't believe they were the real thing.
By 4 am they were not very painful but were every 6-7 minutes and lasting for around 35-40 seconds so i decided to get up and see what happened. They got slightly more frequent and started lasting 40-45 seconds so close to 5 am we rang the midwives, who arrived pretty quickly.
Midwives got here, and hardly believed I was having contractions strong enough to ring them, as I could still act perfectly normally through them, you couldn't even tell I was having one unless i said. So at 5.50 am they decided to check what was going off, well they were shocked when I was already 5-6cm, and had buldging membranes, even though baby was quite high.
At 9 am the midwives switched over, and the contractions were starting to get that I couldn't talk all the way through and the pressure was too much to stay sat throughout I had to get up off the ball for each contraction. So Dh started to fill my pool.
At 10.20 I decided i would be more comfy in pool so i transferred to the pool. Midwives kept pottering between the kitchen where pool was and living room, to give me and DH time together but so I knew they were there if needed.
My waters went at 11.25 am on their own, which relieved a lot of the actual pressure for a while, and turned contractions into more painful contractions then pressure contractions.
At 12.20 pm the contractions were slowing a bit so the midwives asked if i was okay to get out of the pool and be checked to see if standing for a bit would speed things up.
12.30 pm I was 7-8 cm but baby was still high, both sets of waters had gone, before only first set were believed to have gone.
I stayed on my feet after being checked and by 12.45 pm the contractions were back to 3 minutes apart, and by 1.00 pm I got back in the pool as the contractions were getting very painful.
13.18 pm I started wanting to push, and decided to follow my body's lead. 13.25 pm the head was first visible.
13.40 pm the head and her hand was born midwives had to help slightly as her chin got stuck, and at 13.42 my previously yellow bump turned pink with no pain relief throughout. I announced the baby's sex to dh, and the midwives apart from helping with the stuck chin were pretty hands off.
At 13.45 pm i had to have the syntometrine for the placenta as I was starting to bleed a little more than maybe they would like, but was hard to tell as was still in the pool. Placenta delivered 13.53 pm and I had a 2nd syntometrine shot to just make sure bleeding stopped, which it did (450ml loss altogether)
Midwives believed that due to babies chin getting stuck that i would have some kind of tear, so she was shocked when she checked that there was nothing but a labial graze, she even got the other midwife to make sure too.
I had an hour skin to skin once out of the pool, before baby was taken and weight, she was 9 lbs 12 oz same weight as her big sister (big sister born 40 +6 though).
We have named her Maddison, but still trying to finalize middle names.

-Woke up at 2 am with what I thought was contractions
-Slept on and off until close to 4 am.
- Midwives arrived at about 6, baby was a little high, but I was in definite labour despite the fact i was coping so well you couldn't really tell. All the contractions were pressure ones due to baby being a bit high, and her needing to get lower.
- Set one of waters went at 11.25
- Got in pool 10.30, got out about 12 because things were slowing a little due to baby still being high
- Walked around and baby dropped again which is when pain really started.
- Pushed for 24 minutes, she was born with her hand in a superman position.
- No pain relief at any point.
- No tearing, which surprised even midwives due to weight and funny positioning.
