I AM SO STRESSED! :help:

youll be fine hun

1st thing id do is go to your local connections office explain the situation to them
they can help sort benfits out, theres grants and loans for furntiure plus theres always furntiure places that you can go that sell furntiure cheap such as washing manchines 30 pound ect

youll get money to help buy things and babys dont need lots of things they hardly use them i recomend some where to sleep a bouncer,a play mat, a bath spounge surpport home bargins have them in for 99p,nappies,bottles if you plan to formula feed, and sleepsuits ect

also when you go to connections youll get a form to fill in for fruit and veg tokens

if your parents can write you a letter to say you have to be out by a certain date that will help with houses and you should get houseing benifit to cover most of the rent

Aww hunny. I'm sorry, I know what you mean about it all bring kind of crazy and hard... I have somewhere to stay and I'm still stressing about what I'm going to do about diapers and things. Unless my OH steps up we'll both be in the same boat... :/ I'm here to talk, don't forget that!! And what PP said, go find out all of the benefits you'll qualify for. That's what I'm doing atleast until I go back to college and have financial aid.

Hey hun, I'm having the same problems as you. Pretty annoying :/ At 29 weeks you should be able to claim income support if your parents stop claiming child benefit. Sometimes income support starts later depending on when child benefit has ceased to be claimed but you should be entitled to it, at the very latest, slightly after baby's born. Also, if you're claiming income support, you should receive a 500 pound Surestart maternity grant so you can buy the main things you need. You should also be able to claim child tax credits and child benefit after the baby is born if you do claim income support.

Put a housing application in with the council and see if they can home you and the baby until you get started. You should also be able to claim housing benefit so the rent you'd pay would be minimal and certainly affordable from the benefits you'd receive.

Have you had information about Healthy Start vouchers or vitamins? You should also be entitled to them regardless of your current household income as you pregnant and under the age of 20. If you don't know about them, they give you 3.10 off all fresh fruit, veg, milk and formula milk a week, and you'd get an extra 3.10 voucher a week after your baby's born.

Also, if you do decide to go back to school or college (or to any course below university level) you would get your childcare costs pretty much paid for by Care to Learn as you are under 20.

Try joining Freecycle as well. You need to have a Yahoo account but it is for people who are giving away free secondhand items on there because they don't want to throw them away. You can post a free ad requesting any freebies that you need and you can scroll through offers to see if any of them are baby item related. I've seen loads of pushchairs, prams, cots, cotbeds, baby clothes, baths etc listed. It's great :) I've even had a big bundle of boy's clothes given to me. It's definitely worth checking out and you can't go wrong because it's all free.
I know none of this sounds ideal but being a pregnant teenager is definitely hard :/ I'm just trying to get as much help as possible so I can finish my education and get a decent job to support my baby. PM me if you need any more information; I hope this helped put your mind at ease a little bit. Also, talk to a Connexions personal advisor in your area and they should be able to give you more help (if your local Connexions hasn't been scrapped due to the cutbacks.)

Forgot to add, I know some centres that give away free baby items. They're located in all parts of the country. PM me if you want to know more. I'll have to retrieve the information :p

Hello Hun,

I've got a list for you to get baby things it's basic but I used it when I was pregerant with my LO and it helped soooo much.
At 29 weeks you'll be able to claim income support before then you can claim JSA & you will be entitled to housing benefit too. You should also be entitled to healthy start vouchers which is £3.10 for veg, fruit & milk a week, and goes up to £6.20 when your LO is born which you can then use for Forumla if your not BF.
Freecycle is an amazing thing also, sign up and go to your local area there is loads of things being given away my SIL got a free pram & sterillizer out of it :) It's DEFFIENTLY worth it.
You'll also by the sounds of things be entitled to the 500 sure start maternity grant which should help you out alot. Remember your LO doesn't need expensive needless things they just need a few clothes, a bed and your love. :) So don't panic if you can't afford random things like toys or bouncers.

Here is the list I swear blind too lol:

but just remember you don't need all of it on there. :) You'll be okay just go to the housing people and explain your situation. xx

You may not even need things like a travel cot (use your moses basket or baby carrier in the earlier days), a bath (use your kitchen sink or a wash bowl), a cot mobile isn't an essential, don't buy both a swing and a bouncer because baby may not get use out of both and it's a waste of money, don't worry about getting loads of wee outfits because the last thing you want to do is spend ages trying to get a baby into wee tights and dresses etc because it will take FOREVER and its unnecessary- stick to baby grows and all-in-ones. You can get a great bathing essentials starter box in Asda- https://direct.asda.com/Johnson%27s-Baby-Skincaring-Essentials-Box/002666561,default,pd.html
Asda are having their next big baby event in late April, early May and you would be able to get all your cot bedding, nappies, wipes and otehr essentials for next to nothing

Im kind of the same way. I now clean the house where i live and make 50$ a week. Barely anything but its a start. And they dont know im pregnant yet. I know they wont kick me out but they have an autistic 10 year old that screams ALOT. and can get kind of rough so i know it wont work with me having a baby. so idk what im gonna do
