So I got my LO's birth certificate done today and there is this blank space where his Daddy's name should be. Asked FOB about it all and he couldnt give an answer about putting his name on there, said to give him time. I didnt have time as I have to get my benefits. He then drops a clanger and says best leave his name off it for now as he is dealing with a lot right now. I ask him what, exactly is he dealing with and he apparently now has a burst blood vessel in his brain and is having tests to see how serious it is ( he had a brain injury a few years ago) I just dont know what to believe anymore :( I wouldnt put it past him to lie but i guess i have to be sympathetic. I have decided to just copy the certificate, add his details and then attach it to the original for my baby's sake when he is older.

I'm just so fed up with FOB and his constant problems which seem to excuse him from being a father e.g he cant cope on top of all that is going on in his life. men!! they do my head in!

What a spineless git.

I would start a CSA claim or get him to start paying for his child ASAP.

V xxx

Spineless was the best choice of wording there for sure, I agree get CSA on his ass, he has a child now he needs to man up and get on with supporting that child. But in the end you'll get the last laugh, he's missing out on the best thing ever and he will realise that one day

I think i have reached a point now where I am utterly fed up with his personal excuses about why he cant see his son or pay for his son etc. From day one he has had the ability to make me feel that a) I should just take all responsibility and he is exempt from everything because I decided to keep our baby 2) he has personal health problems , even says now this brain thing is 'life threatening' so I should leVe him alone as he cant cope.

I wasnt going to bother ( because hed get all upset) but I think i will go to CSA now as I have had enough of him. Like other mums, once my boy was born I was angry that he wasnt at the birth which was traumatic for me and baby and I'm angry looking at this gorgeous little boy whose Dad doesnt give a shit about him because he has issues and is going through stuff.

Time to not give a damn or care about upsetting my ex and making him ill anymore as he has not given a damn about us at all.

What a douche! I don't know if his stories of medical issues are true. But personally, if I have a life threatening health issue I think I would be happy I was leaving something behind - or potentially leaving something behind. I would want to get to know my child as he would be a part of me that would be left behind ... blah.

Some men though! :nope:

I don't know how it works where you leave but here in the US if the father isn't on the birth certificate then if something were to happen to him then the child would get no benefits.
