Bleeding 3 days after surgery?

Hi i am really confused. Sorry bit to much info in this.I had sugery on friday night and they removed my left tube due to an ectopic. I had very faint spotting the two days after surgery and only when i wiped. On monday i started to bleed quite heavy, like me normal cycles but with small blood clots and sometimes clumps of blood mixed with discharge. I am currently still bleeding. It does appear to be easing off but im just really confused whether this is my first period after the pregnancy or if its just from the surgery. The dr who discharged me from hospital said i should just get what seems like the end of a period, however this appears like a normal period to me?

Anyone had any experiences like this and its been their cycles back on track?

Does anyone know how i can find out if my cycles are back on track?
