With my last pregnancy I had real trouble with bleeding gums throughout.Today I was driving home from work and I had a horrible taste in my mouth.I put my hand up to my mouth and there was loads of blood!Pulled the car over and my gums were bleeding bad.I am 6 DPO hope this is a good sign though not to pleasant!I had noticed blood when I brushed my teeth this morning.Had anyone else had this in previous pregnancies in in the TWW?

Hi sticky bean!
During pregnancy due to hormonal changes some women suffer from gingivitis from mild to sever. I would say that its a bit early to get bleeding gums usually occurs later especially on the second trimester.
Are your gums somewhat puffy, red and tender?

im 5dpo and my gums are bleeding lightly and i thought it was happening because of lack of vitamines or sleep. i know 5dpo is too early for any symptoms but i wana believe its bfp signs lol good luck to all!

Bleeding gums is a sign of infection, gums bleed to help "Wash away" the bacteria that the body can't handle on its own. Flossing everyday below the gumline for 2 weeks will get the infection stable and most likely reversed. The reason gums tend to bleed while pregnant is due to the hormonal changes; the body can't handle even the smallest about of bacteria in the mouth so without proper brushing and flossing gingivitis is very likely to develop. Gum disease is linked to pre-term babies and low birth weight babies, so when you get pregnant make sure to brush 2x/day, floss everyday and get your teeth cleaned every 6 months even if you are pregnant! (Sorry for all of the info, if you can't tell I work in the dental field and love to help with these kinds of questions)
