Bleeding on CD7 first cycle after failed IVF?

Something very strange happened to me today! I’ve just finished round 2 of IVF which unfortunately was a BFN. My period started last Friday (on the day it should have), but today, CD7, I have started bleeding again. It’s not so much I need a towel or tampon, but there is blood there every time I wipe, sometimes a little, sometimes a lot. And I have period-like pain too. What’s all that about? Never had that before! I’m very confused! In fact I was so confused I even took another test in case the first one was wrong and I managed to have a period despite being pregnant and perhaps today I am miscarrying. But that test was BFN too! Anyone else had this?

Sorry to hear about your failed cycles honey

I had a weird mid-cycle bleed after my failed IVF cycle too. Mine was a little later than yours (CD17 or something I think) but it was light, like yours and only lasted a couple of days.

The clinic were never really able to tell me why, just that sometimes things that be a bit wacky after an IVF cycle.

Thanks MrsJA. I notice from your signature your 1st IVF was a chemical pregnancy. I'm wondering if that's what I had. Although still makes no sense I had a normal period! I'm still bleeding now. I'm going to ring the Clinic tomorrow, but I have got my follow up next week so will hopefully get answers then if not tomorrow. Good luck with your next cycle!

Hmmm the Clinic couldn't really explain it, all they offered was "its probably your period trying to finish"! Well I thought it had finished 5 days ago! Still bleeding, had to go up in pad size earlier, but seems to have tapered off again now! And to complicate things my CBFM has given me a High today which is way too early! God knows what's going on! Hoping for more answers next week with the Consultant!

I had bleeding too - but figured it must have been cysts (left over follicles) rupturing.

I bled for a month after my two failed ICSI cycles. It was painful, lots of blobs of blood and both times, the thick uterine lining just dropped out. Sorry if TMI. There's more to shed during a failed IVF than a normal monthly period.

Didn't know that. Although seems strange the clinic were unable to explain it. It seems to have pretty much tapered off now (day 4). It didn't happen after my first IVF cycle and it has been quite light and not painful. Just not sure where it leaves me in terms of my cycle!
