Bleeding/Period After C-section

I had my c-section on October 30 (a month and a few days ago). I bled for a good while afterwards, and it gradually got down to just a little blood or sometimes none at all.

Now all of the sudden I have period-type bleeding. It's been a bit over a month since I had my baby, so is this my actual period showing up? I'm not sure how to tell when the bleeding from having my baby should stop and the bleeding from periods should start.

I remember that happening after I had my son,I just pressumed it was my period as there was a break inbetween the bleeds.

could be, but couldn't say for sure as I only bleed for 2 and a half weeks then got my period when my little one was 8 weeks

I bled for 3 weeks (light) after my c-section and I think I had a week or 2 break (was 4 years ago so can't remember exactly the amount of time) before my period came, but that was a LOT heavier

Sounds like it. With my daughter I had about 5 weeks of bleeding which was tailing off, then had a really heavy week again. Dr said it was probably periods restarting.

I'm back again, because I'm still so confused with whatever is going on. So going back to my initial post, I did end up bleeding for about five days, and then it stopped altogether.

Now all of the sudden, it's starting again. What I thought was my period ended December 7, which was three weeks ago. Monday will be two months post c-section. TMI, but my husband and I had mild intercourse for the first time since my c-section. Later on in the day, I went to the bathroom, and a small clot of blood came out. When I wiped, the red blood is back again.

I'm going to call my doctor Monday and make an appointment, but in the meantime, I'm just looking for anybody that may have had a similar experience that can give me a piece of mind.

it's possible that it's the start of your next period. Is the cycle length typical for you?

Your situation sounds similar to mine - I still had the pp bleeding which was tapering off, but then started into the more period-like bleeding which my midwife said was likely a period.

Then weeks afterwards, DH and I dtd and I started bleeding - as it was the first pp, I thought it was just from that, but it ended up being my period. I counted the days and it was spot on for my normal cycle length.

So if it's your normal cycle length, it very well could be. Even if not, maybe your cycle length is changing since pp?

I bled for 2 weeks, then on and off for 2 weeks. I got told that pp blood can come and go lol. I got my period when LO was either 6 or 8 weeks. I can't remember

Thank you for the help, everybody! It makes me feel better to hear similar stories, because at least I know it might not be an issue after all.

So the bleeding I posted about a few days ago never amounted to anything but random spotting. I have an appointment January 7 just to make sure it's all okay. I'm just so frightened of having to have a hysterectomy. I just got healed and back on my feet, and I don't want to have to go through recovery all over again.

I bled on and off for about two months, i wouldn't worry about it, i think is normal.
