So I had a sweep two days ago and nothing resulted from it bar added back pain, well when I say pain it was more back uncomfort.
Yesterday it was like a constant ache, no breaks etc like a contraction then it went away around 6pm. At around 2am or 3am last night it came back till I went to bed at 5am.

I slept till 2pm today and since then I've been to the toilet twice and both times after I've wiped there has been blood on the paper and a few splotches in the toilet itself (I don't think it was my show since there was no mucusy stuff). I've also had constant period cramp feelings in my tummy and back. When I woke up I could feel LO wriggling a bit though, no more or less than normal, but I don't know what this bleeding could mean. Its not heavy but it is there. Is it normal after a sweep? Should I be worried? What would you do?

Update - So I phoned MW and explained it all to her. She said it is perfectly normal after the sweep and I shouldn't be worried. I suppose I should have guessed that considering the total amount was less than half a tea spoon, baby went mad all afternoon (especially in my bath ), hearbeat sounds normal on the doppler and I've not had any red spots at all since around half 2 today? :D

my midwife told me that bleeding isn't normal in pregnancy, and if i ever have any, i've to phone the hospital.

phone your midwife hun, just incase.

:dust:
xx

i agree with sam, phone your MW hun,

let us know what happens too x x x

:dust::dust:

I'll phone the labour ward, my midwife is too useless to deal with this kinda thing. If anything is wrong with my baby so help me god

im sure everything is fine amy. dont panic :hugs:
keep me updated xxxx

i agree with both the above - phone the hospital - better to be safe..
bleeding in pregnancy isn't a good sign - if it's not too far maybe even go to your local hospital - i'm sure there's loads of things it could be - but just be on the safe sidee!!
you can never be too safe when it comes to your baby!!
xxxx

sounds like your show to me. you have a mucus plug (snit like stuff) then you have a bloody show (blood) but ring your midwife just in case. :) but i had both mucus plug and a show. some only have on or the other.

My Midwife said bleeding after a sweep is very normal but I would phone too if it's bothering you, :hugs: Some peoples shows do start off looking like blood. I had alot of blood come away when I lost the rest of my plug in hospital during my induction.

i hope its ok! Let us know what the hospital say :hugs:

xx

the hospital told me if you ever bleed its ot rite and to just ring them straight away and get it checked out..:hugs:x

Light bleeding after a sweep is normal, but ring Delivery and they will prob want you to go in for a check up.

V xxxx

glad all is normal:D
its always better to double check tho and settle our worried lil minds :)x

Always good to put your mind at ease :) let's hope your LO gets a shift on though! xx
