Blocked ears! Any unblocking tips?

I have had a bad cold with sinusitis over the past few days. The majority of the cold has now gone, but yesterday, my left ear blocked. My hearing is really muffled. It doesn't hurt, and I don't believe it is infected as I am not showing any signs of infection.

What I want to know is...

Any tips for unblocking a blocked ear due to sinus congestion?

Caster oil? I believe that's meant to be good for blocked ears.

That could be just for wax build up though, but I swear my mum used it on me years ago for blocked ears.

I know olive oil is recommended but it may take ages, depending on block. If you want instant relief i suggest micro-suction.

Which ever ear is blocked point towards the ceiling, pull that ears earlobe down, block your nose and blow. It will feel weird but then you will feel the pressure let up.
