Blocked tubes and lazy sperm

Hello ladies .

My story is that of a bitter sweet one . I have just turned 31 last month and I have been with my partner now for 3 years . My partner has a 7 year old girl and a very disgruntled bitter ex wife . They have after years and years just divorced last week and I have been there through all of it . The wife's fight was that for the one child she wants everything and after that battle , he lost . She became pregnant and she never had sex with him much after that . . . . . Then he met me and I in a nut shell turned his life around . I come from a very big family wheres my partner doesn't . . . . .

A few years ago I had PID and I knew at some point I would have difficulty in havign children but with the right medicine and the right partner behind me I would have a chance to become a mother one day .

About 7 months ago I went further into investigating my problems whilst I was on the pill . I had the dye test and it showed that with minimum pressure the dye didn't go anywhere where it should . Then the Dr applied more pressure and it finally went through my right tube . That meant that either my right tube ( the side I had PID ) was either blocked from the infection or was destroyed .

Meanwhile my Dr quite a good one asked me about my lifestyle and that of my partner . When I told him my partner had a very un normal job he immediately suggested that he take a sperm test . Of course my partner freaked out cause he insisted that not only was it not him with the problem as he already has a child , but he was in no way ready for a child . I told him that irrelevant to if he is ready for a child , I want to know my fertility situation and after may tears he agreed to go and have his sperm tested .

One week later the test came back ( in that time I didn't see the use taking the pill anymore if I couldn't get pregnant ) the test shown that my partners sperm was indeed very lazy after 24 hours though before those 24 hours it was arguably fit or active . So defiantly no reason for me to take the pill anymore .

We left it at that and when my partner got divorced with very bad consequences for him I made an appointment to go back to the Dr and book to see if they can do a laparoscopy . He was indeed very willing and happy to see that I had moved forward in my planning .

I came home and told my partner who basically told me that I am dreaming if he thinks he is going to go through having another child with me or anyone else after his very expensive divorce . ( devastated – literally ) though deep down I can kind of understand his thinking . . . . .

He told me that maybe I could become pregnant naturally as I am not taking the pill . . . . . But my theory to him is that for both of us together , the chances are very slim . He said that if I become pregnant naturally he was OK about it but to go through IVF anytime soon he was not willing anytime soon . I feel totally humiliated in many ways , having to sit at the dinner table with him with his daughter sat on his knee almost made me want to vomit .

Is anyone out there ever had a similar story ( not with anyone as selfish as my partner I hope ) but had my kind of problems and become pregnant naturally ? I am becoming kind of desperate , almost ready to walk out of the door desperate .

Best of luck to you all . I am looking for some hope .

Wow, that's a hard situation to be in. You've chosen a bit of a broken man who's carrying around some seriously heavy baggage. You really sound like you need to be with a man who wants to have children, who will support you if you're having issues. If you choose to stay with him you could ask him to take some supplements if he has agreed to try for it naturally. folic acid or a cellular repair supplement like CoQ10 might help. To my knowledge the only thing that's been proven to help sperm is folic acid but there are ongoing studies that have shown that CoQ10 helps rejuvenate old eggs, might help put the jibe back into lazy sperm?

If the doctor got the dye through your tube, it should be opened now right? Are you using OPK's at least so you know when you're ovulating?
I've just told this to my gf because she's in a similar situation. The longer you stay in the relationship not getting your needs met, the harder it is for you to break out and open new doors that might better fit your situation. That kind of change is often the most difficult but also sometimes the most rewarding. No one but you can make that decision though and I wish you all the best no matter what you decide. You deserve a go at being a mom if that's what you desire! :flower:
