blood clot without period? Could be 12dpo?

I've been dealing with crazy cycles lately and don't have anything to base my "Normal" on.. but I can honestly say I've never experienced this! I had some brown spotting and two days later I passed a quarter size clot, thought I was starting my period and NOTHING after that? Going by my chart I *could* be 12dpo, had a two day temp rise with a tiny bit of spotting and wet cm and then bam my thermometer broke. I tried to remember to buy a new one but this week has been crazy with work so I honestly couldn't say. Anyway, has anyone ever had a clot without a period? ?
