I've just been to my gp to ask for follow up bloods on my hcg to see if there rising or falling.

I didn't go to my usual gp just one who could fit me in, when he saw my result of 64 at 3weeks 6days he said he was expecting to see a lot higher for that amount of weeks and pointed to the 4week mark on the graph showing up to 400. He said he expectes these bloods at 4weeks and 2days to be in there thousands and pointed at 5weeks?..

Surely at 3weeks 6days I don't fall into the 4week categorie? And at 4weeks and 2days I fall into the 4week mark not the 5week?

Get my bloods done today and wait till Monday for the results going to be a long weekend

Here's the hcg chart ;

3 weeks LMP: 5 – 50 mIU/ml
4 weeks LMP: 5 – 426 mIU/ml
5 weeks LMP: 18 – 7,340 mIU/ml
6 weeks LMP: 1,080 – 56,500 mIU/ml
7 – 8 weeks LMP: 7, 650 – 229,000 mIU/ml
9 – 12 weeks LMP: 25,700 – 288,000 mIU/ml

I'm not too sure hun, I know it's not the first number that counts but the increase you have. At 4 weeks 2 days I was 597 and at 4 weeks 6 days I was 2662 so in both if those I was in the 5 week mark. Everyone's levels raise differently that's why the range is so big. 64 for 3+6 is in the 4 week range x

I think you are fine.. I went in at 4+1 and mine was 70, then 2 days later it was 144 (doubling as expected). My Dr told me they were looking for 50-100 on the first draw at 4 weeks, so I was right smack in the middle.

This is the issue with a GP (general practice) doc - they are not OBGYN or Fertility docs, and look at the chart and try to interpret what it means. They have a general knowledge and not everyone is going to fall at the high end for the numbers.

don't sweat it - you can get the second # but don't let him stress you out. :flower:

EDITED to note - I am seeing a fertility specialist - so if THEY don't know, no one does!! :)

He's made me very worried and paranoid with having two miscarriages already this year and my last pregnancy my hcg result at 4weeks 6days was 20 I was feeling a lot more positive obviously I would of liked it to of been in the hundreds but I was expecting between 50/100. And this time at 4weeks 2days I'm hoping for between 100/200. If more that would be brilliant :)

Thank you for your reassurance girls more results stories would be lovely too!x
